I had just arrived at my hotel and noticed a Sri Lankan restaurant nearby — I was really excited to check it out. Even though it was near closing time, the staff said it was fine for my friends and me to dine in. However, the staff was not very welcoming, and before we ordered, they mentioned that the food would be fresh. Unfortunately, while ordering, they seemed impatient and rushed us since last call was at 9:30.
When the food arrived, the plates were just as hot as the food — a clear sign that everything had been microwaved. I even heard the microwave running multiple times, confirming it wasn’t freshly made. The portions were small, and the only dish that seemed even remotely fresh was the Devil’s Chicken — which, unfortunately, wasn’t spicy, lacked hot peppers, and was mostly onions with very little chicken. To be honest, it tasted more like sweet and sour chicken than a spicy Sri Lankan dish.
As a Sri Lankan person, I was really disappointed with both the food and the service. To make matters worse, the chef was preparing a fresh mutton curry for themselves while we were served a microwaved one. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience — I would not...
Read moreThe worst Sri Lankan restaurant I have been in Japan. We ordered Sei Lankan short eats: cutlets, rolls and patees two each. They took about 40 minutes to serve. When I opened the cutlet I smelled rotten potato. It was only smashed potato and it was fried in oil which had gone bad. Same with the rolls. We did not eat patees. We ordered some drinks which never came to our table. We wanted to order rice. But decided to leave bcoz we were already disappointed. When we asked for the bill, they gave the bill for drinks as well. Upon inquiry, they mentioned oh drinks were sent to a different table. Food did not have any taste at all. Poor quality food which were almost gone bad. Dirty place. Does not...
Read moreI had the Bojun plate for dinner, and it was excellent!! I really enjoyed having all of the different curries and chutneys with fluffy basmati rice. The staff were kind and helpful, too. The only things that would have made my experience better was if one of the chefs wasn't loudly coughing up phlegm the whole time I was enjoying my meal, and if my food wasn't microwaved (it was disappointing to hear the ding of an old microwave from behind the counter as they prepared my food). The food really was delicious, though, so I would come again when I'm craving Sri...
