Very, very disappointing lunch experience. We were quite excited to try this restaurant because of the high reviews, however, the reviews did not reflect what we found. As soon as we entered, the staff was rushing us. We had not even taken our seats when we were asked for our order. When we asked for time to sit and look at the menu, the staff was visibly annoyed. Instead of giving us a menu, he just turned and walked away. This should have been my cue to leave. We decided to stay and that, in hindsight, was a mistake. He came back twice in the next two minutes, pushing for us to order. When we pointed to what we wanted, the Jo sushi set, instead of writing down the order, he said that will take a long time to make and then just stood there. So, we ordered one regular sushi set and one today’s meal set. The food arrived in less than a minute, meaning it was all premade. That in itself is not a bad thing, but highly unusual for sushi. As far as the food goes, the two things that will indicate to me the level of a restaurant in Japan, the rice and the miso soup. The rice did not look fresh and did not taste good. The miso soup was barely warm and tasted overly salty and sour. The sushi looked dry and unappetizing. The nori on the makisushi was wilted and looked like it was made a long time ago. The sushi tasted like it looked, bad. I am befuddled by the high reviews for this establishment as they simply don’t match our experience of it. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are several within a stones throw that would be a far...
Read moreI wish I could rate this more than 5 stars! I’ve have some disappointing sushi experiences in the past, and was slightly worried about trying more - but we decided to try again and we are so glad we found this hidden gem. Tucked away in Kitahama sits the perfect spot for some of the best nigiri sushi and drinks, and behind the counter are the friendliest chefs. It was such a great experience seeing the chefs make the sushi right in front of you and they seemed so keen to know about your thoughts on the food. We honestly didn’t want to leave the restaurant and are already planning to come back. We were also pleasantly surprised by the total price - we felt like we had ordered a lot and the total was around 70 aud - I wish we got the name of our chef as he was so friendly - can’t wait to...

The owner was so friendly and welcoming, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. It was the perfect spot for a relaxed lunch, and I couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience.
I only wish I could go back and relive this meal all over again. If you’re in Osaka, don’t...
