Sushi Genya Fukushima Main Branch — Restaurant in Osaka

My friend is keen to have some authentic nigiri before our proper dinner in late hours so we decided to check out this small sushi bar in Fukushima which opens at 5 pm. We didn’t regret at all.

There were three young and polite chefs serving at the sushi bar. No English menu needed cos all we did is to point at the fish on the counter top plus sign language for quantity (lol). We were impressed by the freshness of the fish, the temperature and portion of the rice, the balance on taste - they serve ‘red’ sushi which I assume it’s a particular type of vinegar being used.

We felt extremely satisfied with the exceptional quality of food that come with a very friendly price tag. We definitely would order some more sushi and side dish if we had not booked the second restaurant...

Sushi is good, but nothing spectacular. I went a couple of times. First time we took sushi a la carte. I went a second time and tried their top omakase mix (the more exclusive one in the menu). I was less impressed with the latter. Also the service and atmosphere is so so. Basically average...

A very very small sushi bar. Such a place only can exist in Japan and it works. The fish are fresh and portion are generous for the price. Nice service for everyone...
