I almost never write reviews for places, but making an exception for this one because it's just that incredible! Just ate there today and I have to say it's hands down one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten - and I've eaten at famous pizza places in lots of parts of the world including Italy and NYC (seriously, thought this place was better than both locations!). Wait wasn't bad either, maybe 10 mins tops (got there a little after noon).
Get the margherita at a minimum and you'll be amazed at the flavors - every component was perfect, and while I think a lot of places fall a little short on the tomatoes, this place excelled. The dough was also really incredible in texture, both chewy and crisp. I'm astonished it's one person doing all of this - he's a real master of his craft! And he seemed so nice too. Loved the ambience (you can tell he put a lot of thought in how he decorated inside), plus the place clearly has many fans!
You can't go wrong with any of the pizzas you order here - do yourself a favor and try this out if you're in Osaka. It ended up being one of the best meals of the trip and we definitely will be making this a priority when we're in Osaka again in...
Read moreWe found this gem while looking for restaurants to go to that are more local and less touristy in Osaka and stumbled upon this place. I have to say this restaurant was probably one of the coolest I’ve ever been to! It is kind of hidden away on a side street and it’s fairly small. It is run by one man who is so nice and fun! We do not speak any Japanese, so we couldn’t really converse with him, but his vibes were so laid back and friendly.
The restaurant is self serving for water, utensils, and you even grab your drinks from the fridge yourself. There’s a really nice selection of Italian beers and other non-alcoholic drinks. The pizza itself was…..INCREDIBLE. I usually am not a huge fan of Neapolitan pizza, but this was on a different level. The ingredients taste so fresh and the dough is perfect. We got the classic Margherita and the Quattro formaggio pizza and they were both so tasty. He has a large selection of different pizzas and also offers an English menu.
If you still have doubts, you will just have to look at the walls which are covered with messages from previous patrons who all praise the pizza as some of the best they’ve had,...
Read moreWow! What a gem! Food was incredibly tasty and came out so quickly once we sat and ordered. We got the Diavolo (spicy meat) and Parmesagna (eggplant) pizzas - both delicious but the Diavolo stood out. There were about 20+ pies to choose from! Half red sauce, half white, but all thin & chewy crusts the Napolese way. We had to wait for 45 minutes to get seated after putting our name down at 7:45pm on a Saturday, and we were the last party he took on the list. It’s a one man show - the owner (I’m assuming) is both front of house and back of house - seating, doing dishes, and cooking! The rest like silverware, napkins, and drinks (even alcohol) is help yourself, which was wholesome and adorable. He had a pretty large selection of beer, wine, and other drinks. It’s a tiny restaurant: 4-5 tables, seating 10-15 people total, so be patient and expect a wait. Prices were very reasonable and we will be back next time we’re in Osaka! You can tell the place is filled with love, as the walls are covered with sharpie thanks from global travelers and...
