Well let’s see where do I even begin? Check in, smooth. Prior to staying at the Ritz, we had come for my partners Birthday lunch I had organised. We had originally booked in to stay at another venue. So we only came for lunch. When we walked in and couldn’t figure out where the restaurant was, let me tell you that this hotels customer service and hospitality skills began to shine. We approached a lovely lady at the front desk and she did not on out just tell us where the restaurant was, she went out of her way to take us to the front door and speak with the staff to let them know we were there for lunch. Such a pleasure to deal with your staff and I thoroughly recommend this hotel based on their kindness alone. We ate at their restaurant Hanagatami and I will provide a seperate review for this Michelin star venue! I will say it was the most fantastic lunch and my partner was very pleased with his birthday lunch. They even took a commemorative photo for us! Thank you. Once we left we looked around the hotel and enjoyed the interior design before going back to our hotel we were lodging at. That night I organised a next day check out with our existing hotel and booked the rest of our stay at the ritz. We returned the following day and I do not regret it. After experiencing the kindness of their staff, I had no doubt in my mind that this was the hotel we should carry out the remainder of our stay in. The room: huge, comfortable, equipped with all ammenities required. The bed was huge, fantastic pillows. A semi rococo lounge in the corner. Huge bathtub in the bathroom with complimentary bath salts which of a high quality and smelt beautiful. The bathroom had heating elements so as to be able to see your face in the mirror. They really have thought of everything. Chamomile was my favourite! A decent sized desk with essentials. The room was equipped with 2 universal adapters. Spacious closets. A safe. Stock standard but a number of extras. We received complimentary evening turn down service which included a beautiful bed time mist for your pillows, Chocolates and a cute little message.
Upon arrival you received complimentary Kogetsu Senbei. However this was only provided on the first night. I would have like to enjoy one daily haha
The view from our room was beautiful at night with the lights bright! We organised the included breakfast package, a decent buffet of Western and Japanese.
The service: Every interaction with staff was delightful. Every day whilst we were out we came back to a lovely clean room. The staff went out of their way with all of the little things! They would tidy everything up including cords. It was very sweet! There were all of the little things which make you feel like you were being taken care of.
On our first night we had not made any dinner plans, I asked the staff about restaurants in the hotel to make things easy for my partner and I.
They were so lovely and organised us a 6:30pm booking at their French venue, La Baie. They even offered to provide my partner with a blazer. When we turned up the staff were pleased as we matched the dress code. My partner wore a button up collard shirt! I cannot even begin to describe La Baie, it was next level service. Traditional French Cuisine with a touch of fusion. I will leave a seperate review on their google because there are too many good points to this restaurant. the Ritz Carlton Osaka is a must! With 2 restaurants that are Michelin starred, how can you not? A bottle of Bollinger is a fantastic option at La Baie! The staff again were amazing. I remember saying, I cannot have another bite. I walked away so full! They didn’t want me to leave without a small treat after our multi-coursed dinner! They gave me a chocolate treat to take home. What can I say, The Ritz is known for its extravagance? It met those standards. I hope to stay with them in the future.
Your staff deserve an awards night for being so kind and caring 10/10
The bar fridge is unfortunately western and paid per item. It’s a small detail. But I was...
Read moreBelow this additional comment was my original observations however after spending 4 days staying here I’ve learnt a lot about my own values and if you allow time and experiences to help evolve you thinking you will like myself come to realise new experiences staying in unique hotels makes you appreciate all that life has to offer. The amazing assistance of Simon the hotel loyalty manager truly made this hotel one I will never forget in a positive way. His warmth and charm to ensure any assistance I required or question I had was answered with such personal care and attention. This is a prestigious hotel and for some can be overwhelming. But if you want a truly historic and timeless experience. The Ritz Carlton is the hotel to choose. The staff I now realise are a family or all sorts. Each offering their own personality that I now recognise as truly special. The breakfast is average, but everything else I came to realise was above and beyond what I consider normal. Bring your best clothes, and keep your eyes open. The clientele are equally captivating and extraordinary and extravagant. This is one hotel thanks to Simon I will never forget.
I had the opportunity to rest for four days in Osaka Japan after a mountain trek and decided to treat myself by staying at the Ritz Carlton. Sadly, I soon realized that this hotel is used as a training ground for many of its staff internationally. The main challenge I encountered was the lack of English understanding among the staff, so be warned.
Another disappointment was the breakfast selection, which felt more like a three-star hotel experience. The breakfast area was crowded with too many staff, making it difficult for guests to serve themselves. There was no à la carte menu, only a basic buffet breakfast that left much to be desired in terms of quality. It was disheartening to see three chefs standing around doing very little other than observing.
However, I must highly recommend the fitness and swimming pool facilities, as they were exceptional and truly world-class. Since I had work to do, I opted to have my meals in my room. Unfortunately, the room service menu was limited, and it was not possible to make any real alterations to accommodate personal taste preferences. The food itself was average in quality.
Fortunately, there were numerous restaurants located below the hotel, offering a wide variety of options that brought me much enjoyment and satisfaction. If you are planning a trip to Osaka, I would suggest considering a different hotel, unless your goal is to spend the night or multiple nights at the Ritz Carlton simply for the sake of being noticed or wearing the most expensive and glamorous outfits. It seems that the hotel focuses more on these aspects rather than providing the modern amenities that we now expect from luxury five-star hotels internationally.
I must also mention that I had the pleasure of meeting a fellow Australian who worked at the hotel. They were extremely accommodating and helpful, providing me with all the information I needed to enhance my stay. They even explained that I could visit the 7-Eleven store downstairs to withdraw cash, which was more commonly used in Japan and proved to be much more convenient than relying solely on credit cards. The staff's etiquette and overall service were truly spectacular. The warm welcomes and heartfelt goodbyes were the most endearing experiences I have ever had...
Read moreWow, where does one begin? From the moment you drive up, the kindness, love, and hospitality flow through the people and the place. We arrived a little before check-in, but they took us up swiftly to the club lounge, of which we added to our room for the night, and got us a drink of coffee right away. Not seconds later, we had a gentleman come to our table to check us in, swiftly, and give us our room key with a welcome packet. We were able to have a light lunch as well, which was phenomenal!
We headed up to our room and loved the feature of where there is no need to press a button to the room. The programed card knows what floor to go to. We were kindly upgraded to a breathtaking corner suite. Which also made the room more private since our door was the last one near another breathtaking view outside the room. The room was just breathtaking, both literally and physically. Absolutely gorgeous. The bathroom is enveloped with white marble. Which is my husband's absolute favorite stone on earth. We had a phenomenonal bedroom, with chairs to sit and relax in as well as a phenomenal corner view of Osaka!
We had made a reservation for the spa to come to our room at night for a couples foot massage. My husband and I decided to check the spa area out. It was a very relaxing experience to enjoy. They have a phenomenal selection of skin care to use after showering. The staff down there are all so kind and wonderful.
We went to the lounge for tea time. If you have never experienced that, please make the effort. It is truly worth it
We walked around the local area to come back around 7 pm, and since we missed dinner in the club lounge, we ordered a wago burger meal for the night. Then the food arrived so quickly, faster than the estimated time limit. The sweet server came in and placed the food for us near the window to enjoy the nightlife as we ate. The food was all so good. It was sweet ambrosia.
Our foot masseuse's arrived 6 mins before our scheduled time, which is extremely amazing to have a phenomenonal service like that. Phenomenonal massage and definitely worth getting one, if you're staying here.
I got some souvenirs from the Ritz store and once again the same exact treatment. Kindness and effency. She let me choose which plush would look the best for our gifts. Something I hardly experienced while living in North America. She wrapped my items in beautiful wrapping, which I didn't ask for. She gave me an extra bag for the use of giving it as a gift. It's the little details that count.
We ended out visiting the spa to enjoy the outside hot tub and garden. We were greeted with kind employees and enjoyed our last hour outside in the most peaceful, breathtaking, and beautiful garden. It smelled of light flower perfume. Just beautiful.
My husband spoke with the hotel manager to tell him what a wonderful hotel he is running.
I will always remember this place and hold it close to...
