I was looking for an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant in Osaka and found this one online when I was reading a review about the chef Mr. Seisei Yamazaki who cooks there. We decided to make a reservation even though it wasn’t directly near our hotel (~20+ min by train) and the reservation also required a prepayment. Well, what I can say after eating at Sushi Fukushima is that this was probably the best customer service experience I’ve ever had. It’s a small restaurant so every customer is noticed and given very special service. We chose to sit at the counter in front of Mr. Seisei Yamazaki who was so kind the whole time preparing each piece of our sushi plate and each piece was a masterpiece. We chose the 2nd course option (they offer 3 different courses) we had in total 16 pieces of sushi + 2 extras from the chef and a small pudding dessert (each person). The food was excellent and the price was more than reasonable. We paid around 25,000 yen for 2 people and I lost count of how many rounds of sake we had, but they were enough to pair well with the food. Sushi Fukushima makes me leave my first Google review. I have to leave a compliment. You shouldn’t be hesitating choosing among omakase, just go to Sushi Fukushima.

It was a wonderful experience, great customer service. Chef and staff are friendly and funny and tried to communicate despite of language barrier. Little gifts were given, by lottery , it was cute and fun.

Sushi is delicious! We ate abalone, shark fin, sea urchin, salmon roe, tuna and toro, shrimp and many others, and every sushi and sashimi were seasoned to perfection , taste balance and perfect. No rare fish but it was totally fine. This price totally worth it! Personally I like sushi and sashimi more than hot dish.

I have always and will continue trying omakase, after hundreds of omakase many years later, I might not remember the taste of food of many restaurants, but I surely will remember the great experiences in Sushi Fukushima.
