Grand Cube Osaka is a modern and well-designed venue that offers an excellent setting for live performances and events. Located conveniently in the heart of Osaka, this venue is easily accessible, making it a popular choice for both local and international acts. I recently attended a Thom Yorke concert here, and while the overall experience was memorable, there were a few aspects worth noting.
The highlight of Grand Cube Osaka is undoubtedly its superb acoustics. The sound quality during the concert was exceptional, capturing every nuance of Yorke’s complex and atmospheric music. Whether it was the pulsating basslines, intricate electronic elements, or the ethereal quality of Yorke's vocals, the sound was crystal-clear and immersive, making the performance unforgettable. The seating layout also ensured good sightlines from most areas, enhancing the overall concert experience.
However, the process of picking up tickets was less than ideal. The system was convoluted and unnecessarily stressful, especially for international attendees unfamiliar with the procedures. Lack of clear instructions and long wait times added unnecessary frustration to what should have been a straightforward process. Improving this aspect of the event experience would make a significant difference for future visitors.
Despite this hiccup, the venue itself is clean, modern, and well-maintained. Facilities such as restrooms and concession areas were easily accessible and efficiently managed, even with a large crowd.
In conclusion, Grand Cube Osaka is an impressive venue that excels in sound quality and atmosphere, making it a fantastic choice for concerts. However, the ticketing process could benefit from better organization and clarity. If these issues are addressed, the venue could offer an even smoother and more enjoyable experience...
Read moreI came here for two nights of concert. Maybe they did not expect any foreigners to come for the concerts, when I arrived I do not know where to go and the monitors at the lobby are only in Japanese. I have to grab random fans and ask for my way. Luckily, she knows a little English and managed to tell me where to go. So if you are here to attend a concert at the main hall, you need to get in the lift (or via a number of escalators) to get to Level 5. From there, you will have no problem sorting what to do or where to go. The building itself is quite new. The main hall is not big comparing to other concert halls elsewhere. However, the design of the hall is long! If you are on ground floor (Section A, B, C), viewing is acceptable. Seats are quite comfortable (but no one sits in a Japan concert!! Be prepare, the seat always end up for your jacket n bag to sit on while you stand 3 hrs for the concert because no one will sit down in Japan) Level 2 (Section E, F) will have problem with viewing! The seats are steep and high up there! So you are looking at an awkward downward angle to the stage and it feels far!! Your distance from the stage is far!! As for leaving the concert, it does takes a long while for people on level 2 to get back to the lobby to exit the building. Also, there is not much eating choices near this building! Eat elsewhere before...
Read moreIt’s a nice facility, there is one HUGE drawback compared to the Kyocera Dome that also hosts concerts in Osaka: this place only has vending machine drinks. No beer or small stands there waiting to serve food before a concert.
The major upside is that if you get A level seats, you are really close to the musicians. That’s...
