If I could give zero stars, I would. This was our first ever Michelin experience YET it felt like a scam.
I had high hopes for this omakase experience, but it fell far short of expectations. Several things went wrong throughout the meal, starting with the tasteless wasabi. While real wasabi was available, it was left untouched, and what we were served lacked any flavor. The sushi rice didn’t hold together properly, which made it difficult to eat, and the sashimi was thin, short, and far from fresh.
The ingredients used were also disappointing, relying on cheaper options like squid and shrimp. Speaking of shrimp, I had mentioned that my husband has a shrimp allergy, but I don’t. Instead of accommodating that, the shrimp dish was completely removed from both of our omakase menu without any replacement. It felt careless and thoughtless.
There was no garnish on the sushi, which made the presentation feel bland, and when I asked to have a candle added to the dessert to celebrate my husband’s birthday, nothing was done. Not a word or acknowledgment from the staff.
To make things worse, the miso soup was unbearably salty, worse than any instant soup I’ve had, and the matcha had clumps in it—clear evidence that the ratio of powder to water was wrong.
Overall, the lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and use of low-quality ingredients made this a very disappointing dining experience.

Read moreHow is this place charging so much for such trash? There is barely any garnish on the sushi, quality is low, thinly sliced, chef barely explained anything and seemed like he wants to leave the scene asap. Aside from that, I noticed there are several dishes that were NOT authentic, wasabi was made straight from powder and not freshly grated so it is not real wasabi, but horse radish. The ingredients were mainly cheap sashimi, trust me, this fools most foreigners with no experience of eating high quality sushi, but there is not a single dish that impresses me, even the steamed egg was poorly done and the chef used caviar to cover the egg that is scooped from a larger bowl, this shows how lazy the chef is because normally it is done individually per guest. The chef cant even make proper sushi rice, it was tasteless and the rice fell apart. The miso soup was pure sodium, the seaweed on the maguro was way too thick, there is no elegance, no taste and no surprise, how is this getting a michelin star??? I would recommend Michelin to send someone who has substantial amount of experience in japanese cuisine to re-evaluate this restaurant. This is a MAJOR trap for travelers. So again, I will not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for...
Read moreTo preface, the chef and his wife are very kind. This is nothing against them. We are staying at the Ritz and they made us this reservation, so we assumed it would be great. They said it was a Michelin star (which it was, 15 years ago). The fish was good (any fish market for 800 yen was 100000x better). By no means is this worth $350 (46,000 yen). It was so quiet, it was so so uncomfortable. I felt like I could not talk to my boyfriend. We had to whisper the entire dinner. Our reservation was at 6:00, we arrived at 6:01 (we couldn’t find the restaurant due to Google maps for 5 minutes) and we were 15 min later on each course. We were done eating by 7pm. For the price and experience this is no world was worth it. You’d be better going to a hole in the wall for...
