Sushisho Nehachi — Restaurant in Osaka

I was recommended by a friend to try this place, my wife and I ordered the ¥12k set not knowing what to expect, and we were blown again by a 17 course meal by chef Taisho! Every course was carefully prepared, and we could taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients in every bite. My favorites were the squid starter, cod fish, snow crab and fatty tuna sushi!

Food aside, chef Taisho and his partner were very friendly, making us feel welcome despite the language barrier. We communicated through Google Translate and they were so excited when I shared that we were recommended by a friend that they gave us a free glass of sake.

Overall, if you don’t mind a little walk out of the way to get to this place (15 min walk from Tamagawa station), and a slightly long dining experience (our meal lasted about 3.5 hours), definitely check this place out. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m back...

This is a wonderful restaurant in the quiet neighborhood just tucked away from the Main Street. We felt owner’s passion with food. As he served each dish, he explained each of them. They were so delicious!! As we observed how he prepared each dish, we were so impressed by how he carefully paid attentions to the details. They were so beautiful. They were truly arts. If you are looking for authentic Japanese food and want to experience the world of Japanese artisan, you should definitely go there. Going to this restaurant was one of the best experiences we had in Japan (We live in USA now)The owner’s assistant is an English / Japanese speaking friendly young man. He is super nice too. The entire experience was unforgettable.. each dish was crafted with so much intention, care and flavor. I can’t pick out any dish that I wouldn’t eat again since everything was so good. The first five were such creative “appetizer” dishes which I could tell were of the highest quality- simple, yet SO flavorful.. Then came the sushi! It surpassed all my expectations.. the selection, ratio and even the garnishes were perfectly balanced. Also, the two who took care of us were so kind and made us feel comfortable the entire time. They were so kind to strike up conversation and even walked us out. I recommend this to anyone in Osaka and would come back...
