toichipancake kitahorie — Restaurant in Osaka

i went here about a week ago when i was in osaka. i found this place through social media and i thought it would be super cute and fun to visit. i made a reservation for 2 people online. unfortunately, there was only outdoor patio was the only option at 11am. so i went ahead and made a reservation to secure a spot, since i assumed this place would be super busy.

i got there first thing at 11am. i was the first one in line, and there was a 2 groups of 2 behind me. since it didn’t seem that busy, i requested to sit indoors. i thought it was reasonable to request to sit indoors since it was cold outside. the employee refused to let us sit inside. he mentioned there was no availability to sit indoors until 12pm. so i assumed that it will be packed later with reservations.. nope…

i was the first person to order in the restaurant. 2 people (who sat inside) ordered after me. guess who got their food and drinks last? me. i was the first person to order, but last to get the food. it took 45 minutes to get everything and it wasn’t busy.

the 3D art coffee is cute, but the drink wasn’t good. pancakes was ok. you’re mainly there to take pictures of the food.

i finished my food and drink around 12:15, and there was still plenty of seating inside. and the employee did not let us sit inside. i find that ridiculous!

honestly, i wouldn’t recommend this place. there needs to be a better workflow and system to accommodate...

I had a big hype wanting to try the soufflé pancakes and this place did not disappoint! The pancakes were excellent and I highly recommend them. Note, they need to be eaten fresh! I left a couple of bites on the plate to leave for the end, because we also ordered some of the fried chicken and I wanted something salty in between and end with sweet. Even after just a few min, the eggs set and the texture is different. So DEFINITELY eat them fresh! Also to note, the coffee is not good. I am very picky with my coffee and it’s very average. But the reason I’m leaving a 5star review is because I came for the pancakes and those were excellent. The fried chicken and fries were good too! Hopefully this is helpful! amazing! the staff were so sweet and the menus were in japanese and english so it was easy to point and order.

the food was SO delicious and the 3D latte drinks were a must since it’s the shop’s specialty. highly highly recommend.

it wasn’t too crowded on a thursday morning; we arrived at about 1130 (30 min after open) and were able to be sat immediately. food took as long as they advise (20-30 min) but WELL worth the wait. the atmosphere in the shop is so nice as well. they play anime music (which i LOVE haha) but nothing too intense - slice of life and calm tracks.

will definitely come back my next time thru Osaka. only a short walk from the train...
