ＡＲＴ ＨＯＵＳＥ — Attraction in Osaka

This was one of my top experiences in Japan. Just wandering around Dontonbori's side streets and came across this little art shop that is jam-packed with tons of unique art: drawings, picture books, sculptures, cards, paintings, etc.

There's a second floor with many original works from the picture books and I had the extreme good fortune to come on a day where several of the local artists were signing their books and doing custom doodles for people. I sat down and watched and chatted for at least 30 min and everyone was so polite and welcoming.

Beautiful shop/gallery! Lovely place to peruse artist goods. Also, the owner (?) was SUPER nice. Even though we couldn't communicate well as we don't speak much Japanese, she was so friendly and kind. The staff were super kind and helpful. This older lady checked ya out and packed our artwork very neatly. We grabbed a bunch of cool and interesting prints and post card. There was a gallery on the second floor and we bought a canvas print from a local artist to bring back home to Canada. Definitely worth a visit for...
