I've stayed in Shinsaibashi before and know the area, last time before this stay was in 2017 and at the Nishitetsu Inn which is now called the APA, but I got a better deal for six days at the New Osaka budget hotel just around the corner and I definitely made a good choice. The location in Shinsaibashi is perfect and right near Shinsaibashi metro station and walking distance from main shopping district and Namba. The room I got was 712 on the 7th floor, I specifically wanted a quiet located room end of a corridor away from lifts on a high floor and I got it. Very comfortable and not actually a tiny single room as with a lot of Japanese budget hotels, the bathroom has a full size bathtub and was a good size and bed very comfortable. Also a refrigerator which is a bonus, but most Japanese hotel rooms have one. Housekeeping were great and offered to clean my room every day, but I didn't need it, so they left towels and necessary items in a bag outside my door. Teas and coffee is complimentary and available from the lobby 24 hours. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel's restaurant as there so many nice cafes to go to in the area and there is a 24 hour open Lawson convenience store/mini supermarket around the corner one way and a similar Family Mart store the other way around the back. I didn't encounter any problems with this hotel at all, only that the chair by the desk in my room had a loose screw and the leg broke after I sat on it, but it felt wobbly, one of the hotel staff replaced it right away with a good chair. Staff speak limited English at reception, but they understood most of what I said and were helpful and very friendly. Check out time is 11am as with most hotels, it's an additional fee to stay later. This hotel aims at business people wanting cheap basic accommodation and tourists who don't need extra facilities as there are no leisure facilities, spa or gym. Drinks vending machines are on every floor and smoking rooms are available if requested. I will definitely stay here when I return to Osaka, just hopefully no broken chairs in my room, but it wasn't a problem. The shampoo and conditioner they had in the bathroom was very good quality, the shower gel made the best...
Read moreIt’s the third time I stayed at this hotel as I like the location and the room rate was reasonable. They provided a handy phone which you can bring it out and it’s a great help for location search. This was probably implemented in 2018 as it was not available when I last stayed in December 2017. I stayed at Room 809 from end November to first week December 2018. The window’s overlooking an apartment opposite and you must keep your curtains closed. Also, there are the air conditioner generators or whatever it’s called outside and at night you are disturbed by the intermittent humming noise. Initially, I thought it sounded like a motorcycle with the engine running and I discovered it came from these generators on my 2nd or 3rd night. However, I did not request for a room change but take note not to stay at this room if you are a light sleeper. Do not know if it’s the same for all rooms with “x09” series. The hotel gave complimentary mineral water, but you must ask for it when you return to your room. I was given one when I checked in, on the second and last day but on other days you must ask for it when you request for room key upon return to the hotel. It would be better if the mineral water is replenished by the housekeeping staff. The hotel is still using the traditional key system where you must drop it at the Reception each time you leave and retrieve it when you return. At least they have improved by giving you a card with your room number written on it and you produce this to the staff to get your key. This is a good security measure, unlike last time you simply tell the room number and without further verification, they pass you the room key.||||The extendable steel arms and cover of the lamp by the bed is dusty and there are some molds on the grout of the tiles in the bathroom so housekeeping should look into this.||||Thought the Shinsaibashi area is getting a bit mundane and I will probably stay at Kyoto or Umeda the next time but this hotel is still definitely a place I will stay if I want to be in...
Read moreI had been here for 5 nights with twin bed room, in may 2018.||The best thing for this hotel is location|- 5 min and 10 min by foot to Shinsaibashi and Namba area respectively.|- It’s just opposite site of the road from Daimaru (Mall) that has supermarket and multiple brand store.|- It’s about 100 m from Shinsaibashi station. It mean you’ll have almost entire cover way between KIX and the hotel, don’t worry about the rain anymore.||The room’s quite small, but it’s still large enough for my luggage openning on the floor (My luggage is about 150 cm in summation of L+W+H)||There’s airconditioner (both cold/heater)|The bath room had hot/cold water, small bathtub, toiletries and automatically japanese toilet||The hotel also provided slipper and night grown everyday||Breakfast’s what I call “modern Japanese food” with rice, curry, bacon, Miso soup, noodle, regular breverage and fruit|The only bad thing for breakfast is it’s always almost the same in everyday.||For conclusion, this hotel is worth for its price and it will be my first choice for my...
