My family and I had a fun first time visiting Osaka, which is around a 6-7 hour drive from Tokyo depending on traffic or a 2.5 hour ride on the Shinkansen. We stayed at the Hearton Hotel Shinsaibashi Nagahoridori for 3 nights from late-December 2024 through early-January 2025, paying around $181 USD / night per room. This 13-story hotel is located minutes away from the Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi areas of Osaka. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, this hotel earns 3 stars. So now onto the pros and cons of why this hotel got 3 stars:||PROS: ||1. Location: So the first pro of this hotel is the location. This hotel is a several minutes walk away from the Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi areas. Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi are very live with many different shops and department stores. There is also an Aeon Food Style Grocery Store next door, as well as a McDonald’s and a Sukiya just 2-3 minutes away by walking.||2. Close to the Subway Station: The second pro is the proximity to the subway station. The hotel is just minutes walk away from the Yotsubashi, Shinsaibashi, and Nishiohashi stations, which are served by the Yotsubashi Line (Y), Midosuji Line (M), and the Nagahori Tsurumi Ryokuchi Line (N). The Yotsubashi and Shinsaibashi stations are connected by an underground walkway with many shops and restaurants. ||3. Modern and Clean: The third pro is that the hotel is very modern and clean. The hotel rooms and the lobby all look very new and modern. I felt very welcome when I walked into the hotel room. The hotel TV felt very clean and new and there was even a separate remote to control the room temperature.||4. Nice Staff: The 4th pro were the kind and friendly staff. Every morning at the breakfast, the staff always welcomed us and always reminded us when they were closing. The front desk staff were also very welcoming when we came in the hotel every day and night.||Now as to why this hotel did not get 5 stars:||CONS:||1. Small Rooms: The 1st con is that the rooms, like at many other hotels in Japan, are pretty small. The room didn’t have much space to roam around. I had to put one of my luggages on the bed every time to get things in and out of the luggage.||2. Noise: The 2nd con was the noise, specifically since our rooms were right next to the ice and vending machines on the 2nd floor, we could hear others always coming to get ice. The room walls are pretty thin, making it easier to hear other guests outside.||3. Bathroom: The 3rd con is that while not the smallest cruise ship-like bathroom, this bathroom was still pretty small. The sink inside had a little more room than the one at the Ryogoku View Hotel, but still not enough room that I had to bring my toothbrush and dental items to and from my luggage every morning and night.||4. Room Has No Safe: The 4th con was that the room does not have a safe. For those bringing many valuable items like computers and iPads and expecting a safe inside the room, try another hotel. This place ain’t it.||5. Breakfast: The 5th con and I would say the most disappointing was the breakfast. While the staff were always very nice, the breakfast lacked good fresh fruit in the morning, with only 1 fruit option per day. The miso soup often lacked appropriate toppings like green onions and seaweed. On the day we checked out, the miso soup did not have any ingredients inside and tasted pretty bland, with the sweetness going a little too strong, even coming from someone like me with a sweet tooth.||From the pros and cons, would the cons prevent me from staying here again? No, the cons wouldn’t prevent me from staying here again, but it would prevent me from adding the daily breakfast to the room. I would recommend having the appropriate toppings for the miso soup out for us guests to blend with the soup as well as expanding the selection to include more fresh fruit. Other than that, I overall enjoyed my stay here, especially with the new look of the rooms and would definitely consider staying here again should my travels bring my family...

As usual , numerical ratings for the Hearton is as follows:
Location: 9,3/10,0 Staff: 8,5/10,0 Amenities : 8,8/10,0
Alright first thing first, i want to say that i have a family who owns 4 star hotel in Bali Island, so hopefully no one sees some of my comments as bias.
Interestingly & coincidentally i stayed at Hearton the first time i came to Tokyo and Osaka, so its always memorable for me. So , the journey from me and my girl hotel in Tokyo to Hearton is pretty exhausting but memorable! We start to take the Metro Oshiage Station and i carry two very large suitcases while my girl carry a small suitcase. We notice that its raining from inside our lobby so we try order a cab. Our tokyo hotel is very nice ( shout out to one@tokyo) and with their help, a cab arrive. We are dropped off in the station and take the train to the station where we will ride a special train express to Osaka. For the sake of the lenghty story, i skipped the journey along from that station to finding the platform for the train express. As soon as we arrive in Osaka, not going to lie, i was exhausted, both physically and mentally. Even the whole trip starts to chew my girl’s energy like a bubble gum . Before finding the street where the hotel is located . My girl is confused with the direction of the google map. So instead of following the machine, I suggest to her we use our head and went up and outside the station using the nearest elevator . I still remember that time, when i start looking around , my girl said quite excitingly : Its there ! Its there !
We have found it. ( well technically I was the one who suggest the idea ,so more kudos to me) . I think i almost fainted. It was a beautiful sunny day. And i can see that next to the hotel is this gigantic AEON supermarket . I almost could not believe it that next to the AEON is Mcdonald ! My goodness oh my...
So before when we are inside. I took the time of looking at the front design of the hotel. My best word would be modern and minimalist yet simple . It was a casual yet friendly atmosphere lobby .
When i look around the lobby , i was amazed with the various amenities : mineral water , free sachet of coffee , green tea( my favorite) , various hygiene &beauty amenities . I was very impressed by these and it is becoming a trend to my other hotel in Tokyo . When we arrive in our room, i want to say that it felt like a concept of old mix new design. I personally do not see such a huge plus from the design but i can tell you its pretty spacious. For me n my girl , the bathroom is spacious, with bathub . As usual the necessary amenities and equipment are present in the room and i personally like how japanese hotels pay attention to details! I think that if you sre like me who only comes to hotel to rest after one day strolling around ( or maybe eat or drink late night) , Hearton might be your most suitable candidate.
I stay there for 3 nights with my girl and boy oh boy i could not be happier with THE LOCATION. Its just 5-6 minutes walk and you arrive in one of the nightlife and most interesting and busiest spots in Osaka . On a side note, I will say that staffs are very professional yet friendly and if you could speak a bit of japanese, you will basically can do many selfish things (not going to elaborate on this though) . So there you have it. Oh and if you wondering, is the environment safe? I can confidently say that this hotel is blessed with great location yet a proper environment where lots of tourist and local people are doing their usual activities.
