My first review on Google will be a bad and very long one! It's really unfortunate, but I have to warn people beforehand... Especially foreigners and other people. (I've read the comments, it's for everyone he's doesn't like for x reason... So be careful if he doesn't like your face or your look or something else..)
This place is the perfect example of someone who refuses, poorly welcomes, and disdains foreigners even though there are explanations in English, even though I understand Japanese, but that's not the problem... I agree with the others customers who had a bad experience too with him. The welcome makes all the difference during the time spent in the place...
It's regrettable. I work in commerce, and I know that wasn't his way of expressing himself but rather of implicitly rejecting me. This review is important for future customers but also for the manager so that he can reconsider his way of welcoming if he sees this review.
I'm not talking about the cats because they have nothing to do with it, but the problem comes from the manager, apparently, of the café.
We all have bad moments, we're human, but we need to make efforts. Coming to a cat café is generally for relaxing and unwinding in the company of cats.
I've been to a lot of places in Japan and cat cafes, more than 30, but this one is the worst. I just wanted to relax a bit. From the moment I arrived, he was contemptuous, haughty, the kind to make you understand that I wasn't welcome in the place even though that's the very essence of a café...
The explanations of the rules are typical of a cat café but the way they were presented and you have to do this and that with a sideways glance and sighs during the explanations... Also, the arrangement of things, you have to put this here, that there, etc... In the end... All of this made for a bad experience without wanting to enjoy it as usual. I stayed a little thinking it would pass but no... The welcome makes all the difference. How can you say that photos are allowed if his way of welcoming doesn't make you want to stay...
I don't recommend it for foreigners, for Japanese people sometimes, there are no problems.
I just wanted to have a good time, and it turned out to be the worst moment I've...
Read moreWe honestly ended up at this cat café since our apartment AirBNB was located across the street from it and we had time to kill before leaving for our next destination. My daughter LOVES cats and couldn't wait to pet them after having them stare at us through the window multiple days before. As far as cat cafe's go, this one seemed to be a local hangout and super average. They had many shelves of Japanese language manga, books and picture books. Not much in the way of English here whether for service or books being offered. They were able to present the rules in English (which were very standard) and charge us accordingly/communicate the charges accurately. I don't recall exactly, but I believe we paid less that 2,000Y for both myself and my daughter to hang out here for an hour. They also had cat treat vending for 100Y each pouch and sold some cat related goods here (which we did not purchase). The cats were mostly aloof, but bombard you once you buy the treats, also very standard for these establishments. I didn't mind hanging out in the window seats with the gentleman cat with the collar, he was very cute. Most the cats were in good health, two looked like they were being nursed back from being sick, but they seemed to be taken care of overall. The gentleman behind the counter was nice enough, but didn't interact with us much.
If you were looking for a place with high entertainment value or anything to keep you coming back or go out of your way for, you won't find it here. But if you want an authentic local cat café experience with no real downsides, you will find exactly that here.
I don't recall eating or even drinking anything here, so I can't speak on the food or what they...
Read moreNot really a fan of this cafe. Basically, it’s “a cat shelter” that serve drink. Yeah, idk, my first impression was not good. I mean the owner kinda not welcome when knew i don’t speak japanese well. But, i appreciated he treated his kitchen well. There’s one experience made me don’t wanna visit twice, first, to visit this place you need to pay for the first 30 minutes 600 yen (i’ll put the price below), and charge more 200 yen for the next 15 minute, so on and on. Oke, after about 15 minutes i think, i ordered a cup of hot chocolate, then the owner said, “would you like to wait?” I said, “never mind”. I thought he needed to prepare something like boiling water first. But, actually he pappered(?) his cats on the lap first. So, I wait about 5 minutes until the cat slept and he prepared the chocolate. It means it’s already 20 minutes I’ve been there. After the drink was arrived, i just thought, I should’ve ordered ice chocolate instead cause i couldn’t drink it right away. Long story short, i finished the drink in total around 40 minutes at the cafe. I just sighed. Maybe the point plus of this cafe, the place was neat, the cats were nice, the chocolate fortunately...
