Very good milk-based drinks with skilfully created latte art.
What I don‘t like is the menu-concept; I don’t think, it’s a particularly good idea to offer „bitter“ coffee at a specialty coffee place. Also, I find it bad to assign different prices to different roast grades. A café should really focus on a certain type of coffee that they want to serve. If you want to make classic Italian espresso and milk drinks, do it! And if you want to brew great third wave coffee, go for it! I think, mixing these concepts up, is not a good idea. This makes the place lose character and it discourages people from getting out of their comfort zone, especially when fruity, light roasted coffee is more expensive than dark roasts are.
The barista has recommended me to try the „bitter“ roast (I despise that wording) for a Cortado and it was OK. The light roasts offered are way more delicious but are not being ordered a lot because of the pricing. This makes them go stale and also results in the barista being less experienced when it comes to light roasts. The light roasted espresso I have tried here so far hasn‘t been on the same level as for example at Baristart in Odori.
So summing up, come here, if you don‘t care too much about modern specialty coffee and it’s nuances but only want a good, „classic“ milk drink. This place could be so great, if they focussed on light roasts,...
Read moreIf this isn't the best coffee and tiramisu I've ever had, it's in the same league for sure. Normally I don't like fruity varietals, but you could tell the utmost care and attention to detail has been taken with every aspect of this place. The server didn't look happy when I pulled out my phone to record "finishing the tiramisu" at the table, I'm sorry if it was rude! It was my last dessert experience before a long fast and I wanted to remember it. I'm glad I chose this place for my "last meal" as it's one of the best coffee and desserts of my life. The tiramisu and the coffee are both world class incredible. This cafe should have a Michelin star. Thank you for such an awesome experience and for tolerating my silly tourist vibes :) I promise when I come back I will keep my...
