The night we went there were no other tourists & staff spoke very little English, which is of course, is just fine. They did have an English menu but we noticed English menus seem to show only limited items so if you order using the English menu, I don’t think you get the full menu.
The restaurant was busy with people but not very loud. I kind of felt awkward like people were looking at us bc we we’re foreigners but I kind of don’t blame them, we stick out.
We ordered beef tongue meat ball, potato patty, crab miso soup, scallop sashimi and chicken skin gyoza. All the food was good- the best thing was the potato patties. I think they had 2 different kinds of butter on them. One was sweet like a honey flavor.
You pay a small cover charge. Maybe something like 3 yen and you can get food for free along the side of the restaurant. That night there was miso soup, pasta salad, fried fish and maybe one or two other things I did not try. The miso soup was good, pasta salad good. The fish was good but was already...

The Special Seafood Rice Bowl is really good! For only ¥1980, it came with a lot of different types of seafood in it. Each and every piece tasted fresh! The underlaying rice has some seaweed on it, and the slight warmth of the rice accentuates the fresh fish. I would say that the rice was actually my favourite part of the meal, as it was somehow especially tasty! Whatever they did to the rice, it brought all of the seafood together into a harmony of flavours.
They have free miso soup, which is really rich and has great depth of flavour. It's a seafood style miso soup with some fish in it too. On a cold, winter day, it warms your body up very nicely.
It's a very lively izakaya. Lots of drinks, foods, and life flowing through this restaurant. I highly...
Read moreFood was decent and the place is full of locals so you know it's good ~ Sashimi was amazing but the clams were still full of sand. The service was efficient but it was obvious that the assumed manager and waitress had a disdain for my mother and I. I didn't know I couldn't drink my soda inside and the waitress was quite rude to me when informing me so by nudging me quite harshly. I felt as though i was being spoken down to (perhaps due to the language barrier but regardless), and that ruined part of my experience here at this restaurant as I felt like I was casted dirty glances by the manager and waitress from time to time but the other waitress and waiters are kind! The food though was definitely worth the price and it's worth checking out if you're ever in Susukino...
