We chose this hostel because we wanted a room that could fit a family of 4 at a reasonable price. The location can be a bit difficult to find at first but once you k ow your way around, it's not a problem. It isn't too far from the major attractions. Odori park is about 10 to 15 min walk and Susukino is only about 5 to 10 mins. If you want to take the JR line, you'll need to walk to the Susukino station and head towards the main Sapporo station. Cost you around 200 yen per person each way. |There are some restaurants nearby and also some marts if you want to buy food back and cook at the hostel. The dining and kitchen is at the lobby and has all the utensils you need. They also provide coffee and tea. I like the lounge area (Japanese style). Basement is where you get to do your laundry and also has a vending machine. |The quadruple room sleeps 4 people comfortably and still have ample space for our luggage. The only thing lacking is limited hangers for the clothes as there is not cabinets to store your stuff. You can ask the front desk for more hangers. They dont do housekeeping but you can request for new towels at the front desk. Wasn't an issue for us. They requested that you make your beds too. Thought that was good for the kids 😉|Overall, this is a cozy and comfortable place for a fairly reasonable price. The only suggestion I have for the hostel is to put more hangers for the quadruple rooms as it is definitely not enough for 4. Also for the laundry area, do put a table for guest to fold their clothes. Other than that, we...
Read moreHostel is a 20-min walk from the Sapporo subway station. It is a 5-min walk from the Susukino district. One thing I like about this hostel is its welcoming vibe in its lobby. Reception staff also speaks English well. The dormitory room was very spacious and surprisingly better than where I stayed in Shinjuku. They provided a free towel and their bed and mattress were comfortable enough for a good night sleep. The dormitory room had 4 bunk beds and it was not cramped. They have one toilet and bath per floor which can get crowded in the morning. They have 4-5 dormitory rooms per floor, at least in the floor I stayed. |They have a common lounge area in the ground floor and kitchen area for folks to prepare food. To get into the floor from the reception lobby, they have an elevator which makes it convenient to go up and down especially if you have heavy luggages. I was not able to check if they have free lockers for use since I had to leave early in the morning to explore Sapporo. |I also saw in their elevator some community nights were they invite theur guests into a dinner party - which is very inviting and exciting especially for solo travelers like me. |I look forward to stay again in this hostel when I get the chance to visit...
Read more4 stars. I don't know why this one costs more than the other. The other one is better. Staff are great here, but the facilities are not. There was a stench on many of the floors. Initially, I was unsure how to plug in cords. Then, I had a roommate going thru plastic bags at 5am! And they were going in and out of the room at that time. I complained. The hostel put me somewhere else, which was better for a couple days. There was less street noise then. However, then I had a roommate who snored louder than Godzilla. The worst snorer I have ever heard. So many different noises and pitches. I was lucky to sleep that night. The shower was tight and a toilet seat was broken. There were rooms that weren't respecting quiet hours. The wifi wasn't working at times. Again, why does this one cost more than the other? The elevator music playing in the lobby was extremely pleasant in...
