If you’re looking for a place that combines great vibes, delicious food, and top-tier service, look no further than this hipster teppanyaki spot. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm, youthful energy. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making the entire dining experience feel both relaxed and special.
Now let’s talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal. The squid was tender and perfectly seasoned, the chicken thigh juicy and rich with flavor, and the shrimp were so fresh they practically melted in your mouth. The standout dish for me was the modanyaki—savory, comforting, and packed with umami. It’s the kind of food you think about long after the meal is over.
Special shoutout to one of the staff members, Yusuke (I hope I’m getting the name right!). His patience, friendly nature, and bright, genuine smile truly elevated our visit. It’s rare to find someone so sincerely welcoming—he made us feel like we were dining with friends.
Highly recommend this spot if you’re into fun vibes, great service, and...
Read moreFirst time having monjayaki. Here I thought my knowledge of Japanese cuisine was vast, wait till you folks have one of these.
For those who doesn’t know, monjayaki is essentially like okonomiyaki, but with much more watery batter. Texture is between chewy on the bottom and runny on top.
For the taste, it was awesome. We had the chicken basil to test out. It was amazing. Very hard to describe but amazing.
Service is top notch. Servers are very enthusiastic to share what monjayaki is and very blunt on pointing out that it is NOT okonomiyaki. English speaking is limited, so it helps if you can speak some nihongo. They do have English menu with an explanation of what monjayaki is and a brief crash course on its history. The staff cooks it for you.
The side dishes are also top notch. I had the cod innards for my side dish. Pairs real well with beer.
Anyway, if you folks are in Susukino and happen to be in the Cocono shopping mall near Tanukikoji St, just go to the 4th floor and give these folks a try. It’s awesome and will...
Read moreVery noisy place. We sat down under the speaker and requested to change. Staff changed us to the other end with the speaker just above the table again even though the restaurant is quite empty during a non peak hour.
I had nicer monja in Singapore. After the staff cooked, it’s just watery. Not gooey at all and it doesn’t become crispy at the edge no matter how long it’s being cooked. Very bad quality. Okonomiyaki was not being cooked infront but in the kitchen. It’s quite small too.
We were placed at the corner and wanted to order the food. Looked for someone for a long time but no one came over. I walked to the counter and was told to sit down, he will come to me. But after sitting down, he served 2 customers billings, when new customers came, he brought them to the seats, explained the menu and even took their orders, before coming to our table.
Overall not...
