Nokkeya Shizuoka — Restaurant in Shizuoka

A gem in Shizuoka that I felt so glad of running into.

It’s so good that I dined in here thrice and did a takeout in two days. I made sure I drop by this place every meal I can even if I had had a meal. It’s just mesmerizing in terms of flavor and price-performance ratio.

The specialty of this place apparently is tuna; even the chirashi don features mostly tuna. But I wasn’t bored, coz there were enough variation/variety in the types of tuna used. I especially loved their chutoro and negitoro, the fatty flavors literally exploded in my mouth for each bite. For negitoro, always request to add on an onsen egg (if it’s not already included), it does elevate everything to another level (or at least introduce new flavor combination within a single bowl)

Aside from the great taste, the price is unmatchable. For lunch set, it’s only 700+!! For the chirashi, it’s 2500+ but still well worth it (compared to Numazu or other stores in Shizuoka that I’ve tried).

That said, for the price, it couldn’t possibly give everything premium in quality. It has the best freshness, which is evident in the clean and popping umami of the fishes in your mouth. But the cuts could be compromised, like the toro might come with a bit fascia, but that didn’t bother me much, coz the rest of the meat almost melt easily in my mouth, so it didn’t make the fish feel hard to chew at all.

So fair to say, this is gonna be my first go-to for tuna in the future every time I come to Shizuoka—or I should say, I’ll purposely make a stop whenever I pass by Shizuoka. If you do plan to come here multiple like I do, don’t forget to get their...

네기토로 덮밥에서 두꺼운 플라스틱 비닐 조각이 나와 입안을 다칠 뻔했습니다. 이를 알리자 홀 직원은 놀란 표정으로 주방장만 부르기만 했고, 주방장은 그릇을 가져가면서 “스미마셍” 한마디로 대충 넘어가며 음식 교환만 해줬습니다. 끝내 제대로 된 사과는 받지 못했습니다.

음식 관리와 위생 점검이 미흡했고, 고객 응대와 사과 절차도 매우 부족했습니다. 후기가 좋다는 분들도 있지만, 저와 같은 일이 또 생길 수 있습니다. 이 가게는 최대한 피하시길 권합니다.

A thick piece of plastic came out of my negitoro rice bowl, and I nearly injured my mouth. When I reported it, the floor staff looked startled and only called the chef. The chef took my bowl, muttered a quick “sumimasen,” and merely exchanged the dish—there was no proper apology.

Food handling and hygiene checks seemed careless, and the customer response was inadequate. Even if some reviews are positive, the same issue could happen again. I recommend avoiding this...

점심먹기위해 오픈한지 얼마 지나지 않은 시간에 방문했음에도 불구하고 3테이블밖에 남지 않았어요. 다 현지인분들이 식사하고 계셨고, 저희가 거의 다 먹을때쯤은 근처 직장인분들이 오셨어요.

연어말곤 생으로된 바다에서 나온것들은 잘 먹지 않지만 그래도 일본에 왔으니 한번은 먹어보자 라는 생각에 방문했습니다.

저는 연어와 연어알이있는 덮밥을, 일행은 참치모듬이랑 우동면 세트를 주문했어요. (런치메뉴로 따로 있었어요.) 추가로 문어튀김이랑 만두를 주문했습니다.

연어덮밥 :: 연어알이 조금 짰지만 전혀 비리지않았어요. 싱싱하니 밥이랑 같이 너무 맛있게 먹었습니다. 연어알은 조금 짜서 젓가락으로 밥이랑 솔솔솔 비벼 먹었더니 딱 좋더라고요.

참치덮밥 :: 위에 있는 한치 한점만 먹었는데 비리지않고 달더라고요. 은은한 달큰함이 느껴지는걸 보니 싱싱한거 아닐까요? 참치는 먹지않아서 모르겠네요. 일행이 맛있다고 허겁지겁 먹는걸 보니 맛은 있었나봐요.

함께나온 우동은 미역이 들어있었는데 기름지지않고 담백하면서 은은한 미역맛과 향이 나더라고요.

만두 :: 일본이 또 교자가 유명하잖아요. 물론 교자 전문점은 아니였지만 그래도 조금는 기대를 했는데 그냥 군만두 같았어요.. 특별한것 없는 메뉴

문어튀김 :: 질기지않고 부드러우니 식감은 좋았으나 튀김반죽에 기본적인 간이 되어있는지 문어의 맛은 미미했다.
