The matcha tiramisu was SUPERB.

The mascarpone was insanely silky smooth and creamy, with a memorably strong dairy fragrance (made from fresh Hida milk I guess). Taste-wise, it is not the strongest matcha-flavored thing I’ve tasted, but strong enough to complement the mascarpone sweetness (just like what coffee does in a traditional tiramisu). And there’s a layer of red bean in the middle, which further throws in an additional flavor into the equation.

The other thing I liked of this tiramisu was that they’re not using red bean directly in the dessert, the coarseness/graininess of which would have disrupt the smoothness of tiramisu. They made it into a homogenous layer (very lightly gelatinised), which is a very nice additional texture to the tiramisu, together with the soft sponge layer.

matcha tiramisu - lovely tiramisu with a layer of red bean jelly/paste in between. texture was very good, matcha taste was strong and aromatic strawberry and sakura croissant - a limited seasonal item, croissant was flaky and crisp with mochi, whipped cream, strawberries and sakura cream as filling. mochi added a new dimension of textures, paired very well with the sweetness of sakura cream and the slight tartness of the strawberries. strawberries were generous as well and were very fresh. caffe latte - strong aroma, but had a...
