Very delicious food here! We didn’t make reservations but highly recommend you do! They were able to fit us in at 9 pm for dinner! We ended up coming here 2 nights in a row because it’s difficult to find a restaurant in Takayama near our airb/b. We loved the Hida beef sukiyaki - also comes with vegetables, tofu and mushrooms! The Hida beef stew was so tender and juicy and delicious! As well as the pork skewers We also ordered the grilled tofu and bean curd dishes.

Just had dinner here. We didn't have reservation and had to wait 2 hours to be seated, so we just went back to our hotel and waited. But it was totally worth it. The service was also very good. We ordered the pork Takayama ramen, croquettes, grilled tofu, the beef stew, the 300g steak & Toyama shrimp, all very delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Amazing restaurant we found by chance in Takayama that is open at night. We had hida lump of meat which was cut into slices and grilled on the table, it was amazing and very good value for money. Recommended to come here when you are in Takayama.

I am a local citizen and I think this Shirakawa-go (is a name of a restaurant on the ground floor in this Green Hotej) is a good to have local dishes. This is in case you want to have local foods. This restaurant is much more trustworthy than going to a place where the locals eat and don't enjoy the food. There are other good restaurants, but actuality there some tourist-oriented restaurants that are not very good.

Takayama City is famous for its Ramen with soy sauce broth, and my top recommendation is a ramen shop about a 3-minute walk from this hotel. The restaurant is names Jingoro-Ramen. It is popular and there is a line, but as a citizen of Takayama, I would like you to try it at least once.

If you want to have good sweets, I recommend a nice cafe, called 'Fukyu-an'. It's a bit far from this hotel but 30 mins by walk. Maybe after walking around the city then go there? Not only a lot of sweets, but light pizza and pan cakes. Check it out for...

Takayama suffers from over-tourism, there is way too many tourists for this destination. This makes it difficult to find somewhere to have dinner in the main central part of town unless you book in advance, maybe well in advance. On my first night in town I gave up in frustration & just went to a supermarket. For the rest of my stay I changed my strategy & started looking around for good restaurants further from the town centre. Problem solved. There are many good hassle-free options & this is one of them. I didn't stay in this hotel but a nearby one (would have like to but no availability for the dates I was in town). Didn't have to make a reservation just walked on in. Went here twice. Great food, great staff & very good value for money. Highly...
