Afuri Sangenjaya — Restaurant in Tokyo

Known for their signature yuzu infused shio chicken broth, this cashless ramen shop offers a nice atmosphere but the yuzu was a miss for me. The yuzu, salt and chicken didn’t balance well for me. I was more sensitive to the yuzu flavor and it overpowered the whole bowl unfortunately. The piece of pork was nothing special, pretty average. And for the price, I was expecting more out of such a globally established chain.

I’ve given this place two visits hoping it was just a strong batch the first time but this most recent time proved the yuzu isn’t a flavor I like...

Solid ramen that could be better balance. The vegan ramen was okay. It's a bit monotone without any strong flavors. The tantanmen was spicy but thin. The yuzu additive was fun but maybe a bit too strong given the spice forward. That yuzu may have been better suited to the vegan ramen. The pork is roasted as you order it which was nice.

Service was quick and staff is nice. You order at the a ticket booth and hand staff your order ticket. I'd still go back but try...

We ended up having Ramen here every other day that we were in Tokyo because it was the BEST. The chicken broth is so delicious and everything is made perfectly. The rice bowls too. I personally love the thick noodles my husband likes the thin ones, both are equally delicious. Thank you to the staff here who were always so kind and attentive and didn’t mind us with our baby and stroller. We will miss this place and we will be back on our next...
