My wife and I have been lucky enough to dine at some amazing restaurants around the world, but Arigataya Tokyo was hands down one of the best meals we've ever had. We love to carefully plan where we eat, especially with our toddler in tow, so we were a bit hesitant since Arigataya was new and didn’t have many reviews. But the location was convenient, and we decided to give it a shot.
We reached out to the head chef and owner ahead of time to make sure it would be okay to bring our little one, and he was incredibly kind and responsive. Not only did he confirm it would be fine, but he even made a special chicken and rice dish just for our son, which was such a thoughtful touch. We actually found it quite tricky contacting restaurants via email or messenger in Tokyo before our visit, but Arigataya were incredibly responsive.
As for the meal, we went with the Omakase Joker, and it was beyond amazing. Definitely recommend going all out and choosing this. Every dish was a work of art, and the flavors were out of this world. It’s hard to put into words just how incredible the whole experience was. Of all the great restaurants we’ve visited, not only Tokyo but the world, this one definitely stands at the top. We can’t recommend Arigataya enough—it was truly an unforgettable experience. I was a little wary at first given the five star reviews from everyone else and wondered whether they were genuine given how new the restaurant is. Trust...
Read moreWe went yesterday for lunch on our final day in Japan. It was the perfect final meal in Tokyo. The food was well presented and extremely delicious. The service from the owner/chef was amazing, explaining each part of the meal well. We ordered the lunch set with a few extras, the sirloin cut and wagyu sushi were particular highlights, but everything was great. I would recommend adding the mini curry roux with your lunch to have with any remaining rice and egg.
The location is very convenient, if you are in Azabudai for TeamLabs Borderless or shopping. It is also close to Roppongi and the Tokyo Tower.
Family / child friendly, our daughter loved the curry and rice. Thanks for the small gift you gave her at the end of the meal too!
I wish we had gone earlier in the trip, so we could have come back again! Thanks for the brilliant food and hospitality, we will recommend to any friends or family visiting Tokyo! We look forward to...
Read moreA truly unforgettable solo birthday dinner in Tokyo. I visited Arigataya during my solo trip to Tokyo in December last year, while looking for a special omakase dinner to celebrate my birthday near Tokyo Tower—and I’m so glad I found this gem. I booked a solo seat through Google Maps, and the experience exceeded all my expectations. The wagyu was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with each course featuring different cuts and cooking styles. Even the small starters, like the plum-marinated appetizer and the seasonal vegetables, were full of delicate, thoughtful flavor. The sauces were subtle and paired perfectly with every bite. The atmosphere was serene and warm—perfect for a quiet, intimate dinner. I mentioned in my reservation that it was my birthday, and to my surprise, the chef surprised me with a special smoothie topped with a candle sparkler. As someone celebrating alone in a foreign country, it meant the...
