Blue Garden — Restaurant in Tokyo

This cafe is close to Harajuku station, but there is a back street and the entrance is plain. The inside of the cafe is not too wide, not too small, it is a calm atmosphere of just the right size. Clerk is also friendly. Since it is daytime on weekday, customers seem to have many local people, There was a young couple with two young children and it was a very cozy atmosphere. As there is a cafe, there are not many meals menu. The amount of cooking is not many, but it is delicious. Of particular note are soups, salad bars and drinks are free. A hidden gem in the heart of Harajuku!

We found Blue Garden by chance (or thanks to Google!) while shopping in Harajuku, and it turned out to be a perfect spot for us. My husband is vegetarian, so Italian food is often our go-to — and the reviews for this place gave us confidence to try it. We’re so glad we did!

The staff were absolutely lovely — friendly, welcoming, and most importantly, very understanding of our dietary needs. We both ordered pasta dishes and they were absolutely delicious — honestly as good as, if not better than, many Italian restaurants we’ve tried in Europe.

We had hoped to return again, but our travels took us to Kamakura. Still, this place left a lasting impression and we’d highly recommend it to anyone...
