In the middle of bustling harajuku, the shrine is a serene and peaceful place to visit, there's a pond and small garden to walk around, surrounded by a lot of greenery. the shrine is dedicate to a navy person, and his story is on the wall of the shrine if you like reading history. a lot of tourist come here because they sell sanrio charms and stamp book at the store here, which makes for a good souvenir for friends and family.

Peaceful shrine to gain inspiration while seeking inner peace spiritually. Happened to chance upon beautifully bloomed cherry blossom and blessed are the newly couples who are getting married on this day when I visited the shrine. Considering it is nested near the hustle bustle city, it is no surprise you will meet visitors from afar touring around this infamous shrine.

🟠🙏🏻 To get to Toga Shrine, go thru Takeshita Street and get to Marion Crepes shop. ➡️ When you see this Marion crepe kiosk, turn LEFT and walk down the path, and eventually, you will see the peaceful Togo Shrine in view. ✳️ This shrine is set away from the bustling Takeshita alley area. 🌳🌳🙏🏻 It is most soothing and calming to be here in the premises of the shrine.

2019/1 参拝 御朱印記帳 東郷神社 御鎮座地 東京都渋谷区神宮前一丁目五番地三号 祭神 東郷 平八郎 命 例祭日 五月二十八日 御社殿 神明造り七十六坪 境内地 八千四百余坪（二万七千七百二十平方メートル） 由緒沿革 東郷平八郎命は弘化四年（千八四七年）薩摩藩士東郷吉右衛門の四子として鹿児島市加治屋町で生まれ昭和九年（千九三四年）五月三十日八十八歳で東京麹町三番町で薨去されました 明治五年（千八七一年二十四歳のとき英国留学七年間海軍士官としての修行をつまれました 以来軍務に精励し同三十七、八年（千九〇四年、五年）の日露戦役に連合艦隊司令長官として艦隊を指揮し、特に同三十八年五月二十七、八日の日本海海戦で露国のバルチック艦隊を迎えて旗艦三笠にZ旗を掲げてこれを打ち破り世界海戦史上名高い完全勝利をなし遂げ国難を救ったことは有名であります 大正三年（千九十四年）東宮御学問所総裁として時の皇太子天皇教育の重大な責任を果され明治、大正、昭和と三朝に至誠一貫臣節を全うされました その功績に対し、元帥海軍大将従一位大勲位功一級侯爵の栄誉が贈られ高い人格と陰影なきまごこころの人として日本だけでなく世界の人々からも「アドミラル大東郷」として尊敬されるようになりました 昭和九年九月財団法人東郷元帥記念会が設立され全国民崇拝者の協賛により同十五年五月（千九四〇年）創建鎮座祭を執行し府社となり別格官弊社列格寸前の同二十年（千九四五年）五月戦災により一切炎上しました 戦後は仮殿に奉斎 同三十九年（千九六四年）の祭神三十年祭を目標として同三十三年五月復興奉賛会の設立となり全国崇拝者の絶大なる協賛を得て御社殿復興 同三十九年五月二十七日御遷座祭を執行し二十八日竣工奉祝祭並に三十年祭が盛大に斉行されました 同五十九年（千九八四年）は祭神の五十年祭並に復興二十年記念祭に相当するので数年を費して神符授与所、透塀、西参道灯籠四基、北参道鳥居再建、池の改修、井戸新さく、旧東郷邸より移築の土蔵の再建等境内整備進め同五十九年五月に五十年式年例大祭・次いで命日祭・五十年墓前祭（於多磨霊園）が厳修されました 平成二年（千九九〇年）には御鎮座五十年記念に当り 崇拝者各位のとらえる據金によって御鎮座五十年記念事業として御社殿改修、神池の整備、社務所・和楽殿の改修・新築、記念出版等を完遂しました。 【境外説明板より】 2021/2 参拝 2022/3 参拝

Well, Harajuku is one of the busiest streets in Metropolitan Tokyo today. But if you can be 200meters away from Main Street you can find this shrine. Surely, it’s not better than Mejijingu but it’s awesome that you can find this peaceful spot beside the fancy, busy, and noisy street. That’s one of good things living in Tokyo.

Beautiful shrine, so tranquil and peaceful, such a quiet and serene place in the city, you can truly forget about the Hussle and bustle of the outside world as you take in the calming and peaceful surroundings, feeding the fish and just taking in the beautiful scenery well worth the visit would thoroughly recommend it
