Located in the bustling district of Harajuku, Tokyo, Spontini brings a slice of authentic Italian culinary delights to the heart of Japan. As a food enthusiast, I couldn't resist trying this renowned pizzeria during my recent visit to the vibrant city.
Spontini's rustic ambiance immediately transports diners to the charming streets of Italy. The welcoming staff exude warmth and passion for their craft, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience.
The star of the show, undoubtedly, is Spontini's pizza. The classic Margherita I ordered left me in awe. Its perfectly charred crust, generous mozzarella, and aromatic basil showcased the simplicity and brilliance of traditional Italian recipes. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, and I couldn't help but savor every moment.
Besides the exceptional pizza, Spontini offers an array of delectable appetizers and desserts, adding more layers to the delightful culinary journey. The Tiramisu, in particular, was a divine conclusion to the meal, leaving me with a lingering sweet aftertaste.
In conclusion, Spontini at Harajuku is an Italian gem that impresses with its authenticity and passion for quality. Whether you're a local or a traveler seeking a genuine taste of Italy, this pizzeria is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and anyone looking to indulge in the finest pizza outside of Italy....
Read moreFor a long time I've been trying to recapture that feeling of being a kid and eating pizza. At Spontinis, my dream came true. My friends and I misjudged the size of these pizzas, and ordered a whole double mozzarella for the 3 of us. My two friends felt regret about this upon the arrival of the pizza.
I did not.
It's as good as it looks. A cheesy, tomatoey delight. The base is solid enough to carry its payload, but the contents might be so hot you might wanna be careful lifting it with your bare hands.
Thick, cheesy, delicious. There's not been a day that's gone by that I haven't thought about it.
I ate my alotted 2.6666 slices there and then. It was great. My two companions had the remainder of theirs boxed up after one slice each. So. Be wary if you're ordering a full pizza. Be committed.
At 7000 yen for the full 'za it ended up being one of our more expensive Tokyo meals, but for what you get, who could complain, honestly. I loved eating that pizza. My only regret is that now instead of chasing an ethereal childhood dream, I now know that this really exists, and instead I'm gonna be chasing this delightful, but rare, high for the...
Read moreYou won’t be impressed merely by the size of the slice if you like your pizza with a lot of toppings and thinner dough just like me.
Halfway through eating my margherita pizza, I felt like I had had enough of the thick dough already. I should’ve opted to add sausage and salami toppings. But that would’ve set me back ¥1,680 in total, which is a bit pricey far a pizza slice and small portion of lasagna combo.
Speaking of the lasagna, it was loaded with carbo-rich lasagna noodles and less of the meat sauce. Taste-wise, you would be better off eating their pizza.
Lunch time is usually cheaper than dinner time in Tokyo but it’s the reverse at Spontini. They have a pizza night fever or buffet - which includes pizza, salad, lasagna, toppings, and soft drinks - from 5pm for ¥1,800.
Food aside, Spontini is a good place to hangout because it is in a hip building and has outdoor tables...
