breadworks Omotesando — Restaurant in Tokyo

This is a cool little outdoor spot I usually hit-up when I'm in Omotesando and craving something other than Japanese food. The menu is pretty good, includes gourmet salads, sandwiches, pancakes, bread, etc...as well as a Craft Beer menu. Menu is both English and Japanese. The staff speak English. The whole restaurant is non-smoking. On the weekends it tends to be crowded so expect to wait. Put your name on the waiting list as soon as you arrive. The majority of seating is outdoor, dress appropriately according to the weather. The atmosphere is casual and has very cool vibe, especially in the warmer months. CICADA shares the same property, so that is also an option. One of my favorite combo plates here is the Avocado Turkey Sandwich with Canadian bacon and a Craft Beer as well as any salad accompanied with basket of bread. That basket of bread is addicting! Great balance of flavors along with the perfect chew. Tokyo knows how to do bread.

Salt butter roll - different from the Korean and milk bread salt butter rolls. Chewier along with a crispier crust. Sausage bread - bratwurst sausage w mustard. Not heavy at all. Pineapple and coconut galette- crust was baked to perfection and the flavors complimented each other. Chocolate babka- not too sweet. No need to pair it w coffee.

Took a reservation number, waited 5-10, watching all tables stay unused, then got taken over to the same table I’d originally sat down at??

Best thing I can say about the coffee was that it was forgettable - and expensive. Paying for location above everything else.
