crisscross — Restaurant in Tokyo

The ambiance and food at Criss Cross are solid – a great spot with quality dishes and a stylish setting. However, the service on our recent visit left much to be desired.

We initially ordered lightly, which prompted a staff member to inform us (somewhat awkwardly) that our combined order was considered a single person's meal, and suggested we order more. While a little pushy, we understood and ordered additional fries.

Unfortunately, another staff member came shortly after to question our order again, unaware of the recent update – clearly a miscommunication on their end, but it was frustrating and embarrassing during what was supposed to be a pleasant date.

To top it off, the original staff returned with the receipt, scowling and placing it on our table rather abruptly, even shifting utensils around to make space in a disruptive way – a jarring end to the meal.

Good food, but the service needs improvement – especially when it comes to communication and guest...

Food was great and presented nicely. Ordered a salad, pancake with eggs and Mac n Cheese.

The highlight was actually the salad. The leaves were really fresh, almonds were fresh and nicely toasted, barley was added which gave a good texture and the cheese, apple and beetroot gave it a good acidic, mineral like flavours

Pancake was standard as most japanese shops that does pancakes are at high quality, but the portion was a bit big, total of 3 pieces. Sausage was tasty.

Mac and Cheese was good although the sauce was most likely from canned mushroom soup blended with real mushrooms.

Overall sitting outside with a gas warmer with hot food and good tea (surprisingly the black tea was tasty) was very comforting, and it's positioned in a good neighbourhood. Took us 15-20mins wait with 7 seats in front of us at 11.30am on a Saturday morning.

Staff spoke good English and we're very friendly. Great place and would come back and recommend...

great atmosphere when i visited one evening in november. we were 2pax and sat outside in the garden sharing a large table with a group with 2 children, everybody was very well cared for by the staff, blankets were offered for people looking cold, baskets were given for guests with bags so it keeps their bags clean (away from floor) service was fast and staff are always looking for people requesting service (not the intrusive type that always walks past you interrupting your conversation or when you are having your meal) the other customers there are also very good when i visited, not talking loud, everybody was polite and courteous. a really great place to spend some time chatting to friends over a drink or some food. already have recommended to many friends travelling to...
