Aoyama St. Grace Cathedral — Attraction in Tokyo

I remember having a wedding here some years ago . First, the chapel itself looks very nice. Everything was very rushed. The photos from the photographers were rushed and when the church ceremony finished, they told my family who was standing in front of the building at that moment that they must leave the property and stand elsewhere. I was very upset.

Last, we moved on to the wedding celebration. We ordered a nice custom wedding cake. When the dinner celebration finished, i asked the employees ,"where is the rest of my cake?" to which they responded ," We threw out the remaining cake". What? Excuse me, you threw out the rest of MY wedding cake? This was supposed to be a beautiful experience and i am surprised by the lack of professionalism. Its only now ,years later,that i can speak out publicly of this establishment.

I do NOT recommend having your wedding here!

Thank you for your reply. Your reply and the stupidity behind it speaks VOLUMES to the audience. Your company never informed me you would toss the rest of a very special cake that we customized for OUR wedding and PAID for. You staff served a tiny slither of the cake to my family and friends ( I had a small wedding) then continued to toss 80 percent of my cake into the trash because you think its not sanitary to take the rest with us? For you, it is sanitary to waste cake that wasnt yours?That is the most ridiculous excuse i have ever heard in my lifetime and i sincerely hope the readers realize how unprofessional you are. It is sanitary to serve the cake but it suddenly becomes unsanitary when the cake owner wants to take the rest home? I shouldnt have to tell you this but a wedding is NOT a show, it is a rare event most people have in their lifetime. I attended a wedding at this venue as a guest, so I feel fully entitled to share my honest impression. Having spent years overseas and seen real churches and cathedrals, I genuinely can’t understand why so many people choose to get married in these faux “cathedral-style” spaces. They’re essentially European-themed wedding parks — no religious function, no space for prayer, just a stage for photos and theatrical moments.

While the lighting was undeniably great for photos, the entire event felt more like a costume party with a catering budget than a sincere celebration of marriage. The most surreal moment for me was hearing someone refer to the venue as a “sacred space.”

When a place uses the word “cathedral,” yet offers no spiritual openness, no prayer, and no religious significance, it begins to feel — even if unintentionally — like a soft form of sacrilege. Especially to someone familiar with what true places of worship are like.

In the end, what you get is a well-lit wedding factory — fog machines, Bluetooth speakers, and all.

Your transparency is appreciated — though I do still find the use of the word “Cathedral” slightly misleading for international visitors unfamiliar with the venue’s non-religious nature. 新春のブライダルフェアに参加しました。大きな独立型チャペル､それぞれコンセプトのある4つの披露宴会場､本格派の美味しいお料理すべてが素敵で見学の最中ずっと感動ばかりでした。

ご担当の山本さんのご対応が素晴らしく、安心してお任せできると確信してセントグレース大聖堂に決めることができました。

単なる式場見学ではなく まるでディズニーランドや海外旅行に来たかのような特別感と充実したプログラムの内容に感動しました。

1番始めに有名な大聖堂の階段を上がるところでたくさんのスタッフさんに囲まれて本番のように拍手をしてくれました。大聖堂を出る時は音楽の演出とフラワーシャワーがあり驚きました。

大聖堂のチャペルに入ってからは17mの高い天井、20mのバージンロード､パイプオルガンなど厳かな雰囲気と華やかさに圧倒されました。

見学会なのに本番さながらの聖歌隊の合唱･パイプオルガンの演奏にも感動しました。演奏会や音楽が好きな父と母の喜ぶ顔が思い浮かびました。

100年以上の歴史があるというステンドグラスのお話や、ニューヨークの教会をイメージしていること、チャペルの歴史まで丁寧に説明してくれたことで格式高い式場であることを改めて実感しました。

披露宴会場はコンセプトごとに4つあり、いずれの会場も凝っていて素敵でした。特に2階がバーラウンジ､1階の披露宴会場にオープンキッチンがあるグラマシースイートはゲストに楽しんでもらえる工夫が散りばめられていて1番お気に入りでした。

こちらでバーテンダーさんが振る舞ってくれたカクテルと フォアグラのエクレアもおいしかったです。

試食会付きということで楽しみにしていましたが、その期待を上回るくらい美味しいお料理を振る舞っていただきました。

年始早々の忙しい時期にもかかわらず、有名なシェフさん直々に登場されて目の前でフランベの演出や調理をしてくれたことも驚きでした。国産牛のメインディッシュやあわびの洋風茶碗蒸しがとても美味しく､結婚式当日もイメージすることができました。

結婚式の見積もりをするときも山本さんが必要費･予想されるオプション代金を全て1つ1つ説明しながら進めてくれてとても安心できました。

またフェア予約時や当日最後の説明の時に檜垣さんというスタッフの方が丁寧な素敵な対応をしてくださいました。
