Breakfast & Brunch Jade5 — Restaurant in Tokyo

It's been along time since I've had brunch here in Japan, and I couldn't was opportunity to have a westernize meal while the day was young and this restaurant was open. It was really hard to make up my mind because everything is delicious, but I selected the chocolate and cherry pancakes recommended by the server. I felt like I needed to meet so I got some bacon and when they both came out was very impressed with how everything looked on the plate. You have to remember this isn't like IHOP or any of these gigantic breakfast spots in the west and the portioning was just right. My crew (4 people total) wanted to try something other than our hotel's breakfast offerings. Quick search of the Google and pulled up Jade5. A quick scan of the reviews convinced me to give a go. It was only a 9 minute walk from our hotel, down a quaint little alley. The place is adorable and cozy, seats a total of 10 people. They were playing old American music from the 1920s. The menu was not huge but they had something for everyone and it was in English. My hubs had the eggs Florentine, I had the eggs.benedict. Both came with homefries. My SIL had banana walnut pancakes and my BIL also had eggs Benedict. Everything was so delicious, and freshly made. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. Very small restaurant with only 3 tables for 2 people and then one larger table. Luckily we didn’t have to wait when we arrived but later on people were queuing up. It appears if all the tables are full then you write your name on the clipboard and wait your turn. Take out is also available and quick turn around.

We had the banana & walnut pancakes (3 pieces) and fried eggs plate which was served sunny-side up with breakfast potatoes. Two bites of my pancake did seem to have raw batter around the banana but otherwise the food was delicious.

Child friendly restaurant with a booster seat and a library for kids. My daughter enjoyed reading an English book while we waited for breakfast.
