Have been searching for proper Arabic food in Tokyo for a while. Zenobia, I believe a Syrian resturant that offers Middle Eastern dishes.
Summary: Good food, great atmosphere, but a bit on the expensive side.
Average dinner price: ¥2,500-5,000
Highly recommended.
Detailed: Food: While I couldn't find many dishes that I was craving for. Everything I tried was good.
The Btabal and Baba Ghanoug (eggplant based appetizers) were super delicious and very authentic in taste.
Arabic bread was the best I had in Tokyo too.
We also ordered Shish kabab, Shish Tawoq, Mutton Frekeh, Kabseh and Fatoush Salad. Were all good. The shish tawouq and kabab were especially good.
The lemon and mint drinks were also top tier.
Desserts: I tried Knafeh, but they use cream instead of white cheese. Which is understandable since that type of cheese is hard to store and hard to find in Japan. It tasted good but wasn't exactly an authentic Levant knafeh if that's what you are looking for
Atmosphere: We were 8 people and reserved the room inside with an Arabic seating style, it was very cozy with lots of Arabic decorations, very comfortable and had Arabic traditional music in the background (Um Kalthoom and Abdul...

The food made here is better than my mother's cooking. I say that confidently, and with no reservations (please do not tell my mother I said this... She would hit me upside the head with a sha7ata [slipper])
If you've never eaten middle eastern food, beyond kababs and hummus, this is the place to try. Everything on the menu is, in my opinion, perfect. If you don't know how to eat something the servers will show you...
When I went, on my second visit, my friend and I invited our non-Arabian friends to this place. It was clear that we were introducing them to the food and the ways to eat Arabic food, and through no request of our own the server (after the meal was over) conducted a Arabic coffee drinking ceremony. Even I learned something new!
Truly, one of the best restaurant experiences...
Read moreIt's expensive for what we got and i would try different middle eastern restaurant next time since there's somehow 4 more in the same area.
I'm a Japanese and visited there with my American girlfriend. we both have experience of living in the countries with a bunch of middle eastern restaurants but wanted to try one in Tokyo.
We ordered 1 sour drink for each. apple one was decent but felt like they don't even have 1% of alcohol.
For food, we took 2900 yen course but it was not enough for both of us, as if it's adjusted to middle aged Japanese lady stomach size. i always dislike the place where they represent authentic food from foreign countries but changing the serving size to japanese standard.
Kebab, naan and garlic-humus was ok but the rest was meh. nothing stands out.
Maybe the thing is a bit different in lunch time but as i mentioned above, there's other options in the same area so i don't think i will...
