I gave 5 stars because we love breakfast club and want it to be experienced. Great food and atmosphere but our most recent experience (February 5th) was a poor one.
We got there just before 2pm and there was a queue of just 4 others in front of us. Slowly they went in until it was just us left and we waited for another 50 minutes, in that time the 6 people behind us gave up and left.
I was starting to wonder if we had accidentally came across one of those Disneyland rides that are full of realistic robots in a permanent state of revel when the door finally opened with an apology from staff and we shuffled our numb bodies inside
We were seated and seen to very quickly by the well meaning staff (the chef had no one else to cook for) however, before we were served the last 2 of the 4 who were in front of us outside paid their bill and left. In 70 minutes only 6 people had left the cafe, and 4 of those had been waiting outside in that time!
Here lies the problem.
Most of the cafe’s customers had empty plates and had spent most of the last hour staring at their iPhones! I had spent a lot of my time outside glaring through the window at one of them who was literally there for the whole 70 minutes with an empty plate!
I’m all for chilling at a cafe but if it’s busy and people are waiting in the cold the staff need to remind these patrons that iPhones are wonderfully air proof and can be taken outdoors.
Asking them politely to leave is unlikely to offend them and if they are offended they are negatively affecting your income so it’s a win win.
When our buttermilk pancakes arrived there was enough uncooked batter in them for me to fill a jug to whip up a fresh batch at home (definitely considerable, when cooked they’re delicious!). I had the impression the chef was aware how long we had waited and wanted to serve us quickly, so I don’t hold him to account to much. It happens.
Overall it will be a long time before we would consider visiting again but we still recommend it. But if you see a...
Read moreUpdate a year later: we've been back twice since, both times preemptively checking that we weren't desperately hungry, and bringing some reading material for the presumed wait. Based on those two visits I'm cautiously optimistic and updating the rating from 2 to 4 stars. They seem to have shifted to a model where if they're understaffed, they don't fill all the seats, and instead have people wait outside. This leads to much more reasonable wait times between ordering and eating (maybe 20 minutes). Also they got rid of the breakfast "burrito".
Original review preserved below.
We had such a good time our first couple of times here. Sure, pretty slow, but they were busy, and the food was good. But today was extra bad... 58 minutes, from 11:56-12:54, between ordering and food arriving. And the restaurant was half-empty! This really soured me on Breakfast Club. I can't rely on them; it's not enjoyable sitting for an hour wondering whether they've forgotten we exist, and whether we should leave and go find a bakery instead or whether that'd be too rude.
Plus, their "breakfast burrito" wasn't actually a burrito? Just some burrito ingredients sitting on top of a tortilla??...

Was worried about the other reviews mentioning the super long wait - no issues for me
Came here on a weekday so didn’t know the pancake dish was weekend only (why?) I’ve seen the opposite often but whatever 😅 French toast will do!
1600 for the French toast dish. Super price but depends on the size. Seeing it described being made with sour dough, not much confidence Ngl
400 for ice coffee - no drink set available
Dish wise, 3 big pieces of toast with powered sugar and some banana 🍌 and blueberry prices. Good amount for the price
Taste wise? As expected kinda sour I like sour toast but it just doesn’t work well with French toast. Really needed the syrup not cancel out the sourness and even this it want enough
I do wonder just WHY? 🤔 Even in the USA never seen a diner use sour toast for French toast
I struggled to even finish it. Left some
I definitely got full but kinda regretted it. Wouldn’t recommend the French toast at all but curious about the pancakes 🥞
Vibe is as expected, classic old school American diner. Super...
