Large, aesthetic cafe that’s just a couple of minutes away from Shimokita station. One of the few cafes open early in the area. They have wi-fi, but they have signs up that say they might kick you out after 2 hours if it is busy. Fair.
Lots of seating and seating options from 4-seater round tables to 2-seater tables.
Food menu for breakfast is limited to the American Breakfast and the sandwich plate which was sold out for some reason when I got there really early.
The “American” breakfast plate consists of a yolky egg, a slice of bacon, small salad with Japanese carrot kinpira, a bagel, and cream cheese. I know it’s not meant to be literal, but the average American does not like yolky eggs and does not eat salad for breakfast hahaha. I thought it was good, albeit pricey. The bagel was probably my favorite part.
If you order a drink then you get ¥200 off. All in all it was about ¥1,600 for the plate and a latte.
I had the Ethiopian blend and it was good. Clean, smooth.
Seems like the cafe fills up fast - a mix of foreigners and Japanese clientele.
Staff was ok. Awkward coming in when it’s empty, and the entire...

My forever bane whilst visiting Japan is it's lack of breakfast options. I'm an early riser, and often want to start the day with coffee and good food, but so few places open earlier than about 10:00 (if you're lucky). Thankfully, Brooklyn opens at 08:00 for full service.
The interior is bright and airy with lots of natural light coming in from the glass walls. The space is open plan with a nice modern wood aesthetic.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, with a cheery smile as I ordered.
The coffee is a good price given how good it is, and the food is hot and fresh.
Best of all there is free wifi and power sockets to make use of.
If you're like me, definitely make this one of your breakfast spots whilst you're in...
Read moreWe stopped here for breakfast, ordered a BLT and was absolutely disgusted to have it come with fish paste on it. I don’t eat fish, I would never choose a dish that comes with fish or seafood. There was no mention of fish being included in the dish, it was lucky I don’t have life threatening allergies. BLT has always been a safe choice in Japan because who in their right mind would put fish paste on it. The service was also shoddy, my husband had to inquire 3 times about his meal as it just didn’t arrive, even though other customers were getting served before. We got a half assed apology. The coffee was mediocre. Shimokita has far better places to eat and get...
