We visited Byblos Lebanese restaurant for dinner as a family of 4, 2 vegetarians and 2 meat eaters. We ordered a variety of dishes, which did arrive quite promptly, but unfortunately that’s where the positives ended.
The portion sizes were extremely small, especially for the prices charged. For example, the falafel consisted of just four tiny pieces, hardly enough to share. My son ordered the chicken shawarma, and although he’s really not fussy, he actually commented that the quality was extremely poor. The chicken had no flavour whatsoever; the only taste came from the sauces added on top. The lamb kofta was another let-down, it arrived as just one small piece, despite the menu photo showing two per portion.
Overall, this was not a good experience for the money we spent. The quality and quantity of the food simply didn’t live up to expectations. This is an honest review, and to be frank, we won’t be...
Read moreI moved to Japan in August and haven’t been able to find much middle eastern food. My family is from Lebanon and I’m a bit picky with this food but this tasted like those family recipes. My husband and I shared the Mandi set which included feta and walnut salad, hummus, falafel, kibbeh, grape leaves, sambusak, mandi, and moussaka with pistachio and date cakes for dessert. Each dish was brought out at different times making the experience amazing. The mint lemonade was delicious and the Arab coffee was perfect. The food was incredible, the chef was so kind and friendly (his family is from Tripoli near my family), and the atmosphere made for a relaxing dinner experience. Definitely saving for a return trip next time...
Read moreI'm Lebanese and I can say this place is legit. The owner is super friendly. The selection of sweets was impressive, and tasty. The zaatar manakish and lahm baajin (meat pie) were excellent. We reheated them when we got home, and they were perfect. I loved both the chicken shawarma and kafta sandwiches, the sandwich bread seems handmade and is quite lovely. The total perk/bonus for me was that I could buy wild cucumber pickles (kabees me2te) and fava bean cans (foul mdammas). They also sell sesame paste (tahini, Mechaalany brand), vine leaves and zaatar mix, among other things. I was so pleased with the visit to this place, it really made my week. I will definitely be...
