Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Colourful and cluttered space. We felt a little tight in there. Not much space between the tables and boxes were put on many corners of the restaurant. That vivid red pinkish wall is a question of taste. Personally, it is too vivid for my eyes. To sum up, even if it lacks the refinement of other Slavic places, it has that casual atmosphere perfect for couples. Yes, there were a lot of couples when we were there.
Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was simply tasteful. Savoury and well seasoned. The various choices of wines is a big plus for wine lovers and a wide choice of russian and georgian meals are available. As none of the people behing the stoves were Japanese, it is safe to say the taste in here are very close to what you would find in Russia or Georgia.
Pricing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For ones who look for original taste, this is a place to try. The wide range of choice implies a wide rage of pricing that goes from cheap to mid expensive.
I just want to add as there are some adept of the Russian culture boycot who migh look at this review, this is a Georgian + Russian restaurant. Moreover, Russian centuries old Culture and gastronomy don't have anything to do with the horrifying events...

I'm not sure how authentic it was, because I've had very little authentic Russian food. I ordered the Beef Stroganoff, Borscht, salad, and cake. I thought it was all very good, but I couldn't help to wonder if this was authentic Russian food or Russian food catered to Japanese tastes. In the majority of places in America (especially smaller towns) none of the ethnic restaurants are authentic. American "Chinese" restaurants are very popular, but they offer little resemblance to actual Chinese food. The same can be said about American "Japanese"...
Read moreA random celebration of the upcoming holidays led my wife and I to Cafe Russia in Kichijoji. Now, important piece of information, I know very little about Russian food so I can’t assess its authenticity, but what I can say is this, it was delicious. We ordered the five appetizer platter which included five appetizers (SURPRISE!!) borscht, stroganoff, tea, and dessert. In addition, we added a few ala carte items: pelmeni and Khachapuri. The borscht, pelmeni, and khachapuri were absolutely delightful. The restaurant also has an extensive wine and vodka list so we just had to try a couple of vodkas; both were quite strong but delicious. Well...
