If you’ve eaten at a Sushiro before, you know the playbook: touch-screen ordering, plates sliding in on a conveyor & a steady flow of green tea you mix yourself from powder and hot water taps. It’s efficient, affordable & more about volume than artistry.
This branch inside PARCO delivers on that promise… mostly. Ordering is easy with the tablets & food comes quickly. The salmon was fresh & clean-tasting, a safe bet. The fun factor is there....you can sit down, fire off orders & watch your food zip in on a tray like a sushi bullet train.
But here’s where the shine comes off. Some dishes felt more like novelty than quality. Case in point: the egg salad gunkan topped with deep-fried onion croquettes. Crunchy? Yes. Flavor bomb? Not really. It felt like the kitchen was trying to merge izakaya snacks with sushi & the result was more curiosity than crave-worthy.
The green tea was solid (can’t mess up powdered matcha too badly) & service was smooth enough, though the atmosphere is more “fast casual efficiency” than a place you linger.
It's fine if you want quick, cheap sushi in a busy shopping district. But if you’re looking for standout flavor or a memorable sushi experience, this isn’t it. Think of it as sushi’s equivalent of fast fashion...fun, accessible & not...
Read moreWent on Sunday, February 11th, 2024 in the afternoon. Nearly everything we ordered was just awful. "Miso" soup was flavorless water. All raw nigiri ordered looked nothing like what was pictured and each piece of fish was very chewy, off temp, and tasted strange. Otoro was just a tough slice of white fat. Kani miso gunkan tasted so off that we did not eat them. Even the French fries were terrible (I suspect they were precooked and refried). No sushi whatsoever was offered on the conveyor belt. For the amount of money spent (¥2000+ per person) we were extremely dissatisfied. Beware the self pay station does not allow the use of credit cards. Sadly this was the worst sushi experience in my life and in over 5 years living in Japan. I actually had better sushi at Kura Sushi in Kichijoji even though that was previously my worst ever sushi experience. Avoid this place and go have one of the many better food options...
Read moreWaited 45 min to get in, but were never seated. When our number was called, I stood up and apparently pushed/touched the wrong button on the machine. My ticket got canceled. Our group could then not be seated, and we were told we'd simply have to wait another 45 minutes. Never going back because their own staff can't deal with any...
