This cafe is a part of Cafe The Sun Lives Here group. They have a donut shop, cafe, what they call “factory” within the group. It was in a residential neighborhood, and there was no sign anywhere, so we were not sure where it was for a minute. It was not a busy day, we were the only customers in there.
They had cheesecakes in jars in their refrigerated window, as they are available at all locations. The interior was chilled vibe, with minimum number of seating. Since there were more staffs than the customers, they were just chatting among themselves, which was kind of strange to see in Japan… They are usually more polite and strict. Here, with young staffs, they were just chatting and laughing instead of taking care of customers…
We ordered Hot Tea and Orange Juice with the dessert. The Dessert we ordered was one of their Seasonal Plate, where you choose the main dessert, that comes with two side desserts. We chose Tiramisu Plate to share. The side desserts were Anko Butter Crumble Muffin and Matcha Pudding. The Muffin was sweet and fluffy. Not sure I would call it “crumble” since it didn’t have the typical crumble topping. We cut it in half and spread the butter with sweet bean on it, although the muffing was not heated up so the butter didn’t melt. Matcha Pudding came with Kuromitsu, the bitterness of matcha and sweetness of syrup was quite nice.
Tiramisu comes with Milk Sauce that you pour over the tiramisu. The staff told us to pour it over immediately otherwise, the sauce will get hardened if you wait too long. Milk Sauce had kind of a slightly whipped cream type thing on the top, so once you finish pouring all the sauce, you will have a nice little cream on top of the tiramisu. The interesting thing was that the cocoa powder acted like a waterproof coating, so the tiramisu underneath the powder never absorbed the sauce, and never got soggy. Their homemade sponge had a nice little crunch, which is different from a traditional tiramisu. It was certainly unique, and yes, super tasty! We enjoyed their desserts, but the non-existent service and their kind of annoying chatting/laughing took away 2 stars for me. I don't think it is a place we need to go back to...
Read more二度と行かない。最初から最後まで、サービスが悪い、言っても謝るのしかたがあり得ない。 save your trip and money, dont go. average coffee, good enough cheesecake but service is horrible. kept us waiting despite empty tables, and when we ask them about it one of the staff told us to wait while she attended for a takeout customer without telling other staff. so other assumed we were all together. time wasted. its such a tiny place of 4 tables with 3 staffs 🥲 how can they not have initiativeness and awareness.
didnt tell us that we could only sit in for an hour. told us 10mins before the time with an attitude as if we should have known. when we said we werent told, she unapologetically apologised. if we knew earlier we would have moved to other place because we were in the middle of the meeting.
while we were paying we raised our discontent but instead of finding solution, one of the staffs looked shock and disbelief. unfortunate but definitely would warn people if you are looking for an authentic and humanizing experience, this place is not for you. thought if you love cheesecake, do a takeout maybe for a yogurt cheesecake and have low...
Read moreIt's a small cafe in the middle of the suburbs, that specializes in cheesecake! It's a bit pricey in terms of volume, but their Chilk (cheesecake milk?) is pretty tasty. They also have regular cheesecake and a couple of other cheesecake-like desserts to choose from.
The staff don't really speak English, but the menu is written in English, so it's pretty easy to navigate.
It's my first time visiting, but I have a feeling their menu is a bit seasonal. Generally, it's a nice place to have a quick bite with a girlfriend or two, so you can take your Instagram pics and have a casual chat...
