Everything here is gorgeous, including the interior decorating. The food is fine, too. But the display is better than the flavor. It's all surface, no depth.
As you can tell from the pictures, I opted for more savory European style breads than sweet pastry. They were all high quality, especially the fillings. But the bread itself won't blow your mind.
The crust is thin and the crumb is a little too soft. There's not much gluten chewiness and only weak Maillard reaction, so it doesn't have the kind of complex toasted notes you expect when you see breads that look this way.
It's also a little overpriced. I mean it's not significantly better than any of the other bakeries in Tokyo, but I'd estimate it's about 20% pricier. Not a big deal. Just know what you're getting yourself into. You're buying beauty not flavor.
