I booked a dinner here in April 2025 to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. I clearly told them it was her birthday, ordered a birthday cake with a message, and mentioned that she doesn’t drink alcohol.
They did give us a window seat as requested, but everything else was disappointing.
The food was unmemorable to start with. While it was presented nicely, somehow I couldn’t find any distinctive, “stand-out” elements compared to other restaurants of the same class.
The real letdown was their service.
It was obvious they hadn’t read my requests, as they still asked her if she preferred champagne at the start of the meal. The birthday message was randomly placed on both the dessert plate and the cake. Worst of all, they completely forgot about the birthday cake. After the entire meal was over, nothing came—I had to remind them. Only then did they bring the cake, with no candle, no “happy birthday,” nothing. Just the cake, placed on the table 20 minutes before the restaurant closed.
The birthday celebration was more important than the meal or champagne, but it was completely neglected. The high price (97,000 yen I paid) and the reputation of this hotel in the heart of Tokyo made the neglect even worse. I expected a very high level of meticulousness, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail, but they clearly fell short.
The staff apologized and gave us free confiture and bread, but honestly, that doesn’t fix how badly they handled what was supposed to be a special night.
I gave it one star because that’s the lowest I could give. It...
Read moreTried this restaurant for our last night in Tokyo. First off the view and the decor of the restaurant was impeccable. We really enjoyed the pristine lighting and atmosphere. Secondly, the food was quite nice. We ordered the champagne and caviar menu and were served a generous portion of caviar and throughly enjoyed all 10 courses. The dessert included caviar and was very unique. Just docking a star as the service could have been improved. We were served all night by the sommelier which was a bit strange but ok, it was just unfortunate that he was not able to give much detail about the food when we asked questions. He forgot to serve the champagne at the beginning of the meal and served it at dessert which by then we were already quite full and not in the mood to drink more. Lastly, we were still enjoying our dessert when we were told the restaurant was closing (meaning we needed to leave). We aren’t speedy eaters but definitely didn’t feel like we were too slow so that was a first for us to be told to leave before even being finished. Just a note, the food menu may be reasonable but the drinks were on the high end (25000 yen for the lowest tier wine pairing, 4500 yen avg for a glass of wine, 2500 yen+ for tea or juice). The restaurant was quite empty all night (maybe at 20% capacity) so reservations should be easy to make here. Overall food and decor was excellent but service could be improved to be in line with other fine dining...
Read moreFour season + Michelin 1 star, I expect everything will be perfect ! Therefore I have dinner on 17 Oct 2024, after the tasteless amuse bouche and starters … and the meat dish too unsavory to accept.( please refer to pic attached, the green color one is the meat dish) !
The most unacceptable thing is when I ask one of the staff where is the washroom, at first the staff told me that the restaurant washroom is occupied but she could show me another one located in the hotel! We follow the staff walk around the whole 39th floor and she still could not show us the washroom direction and even leave us alone ! I finally asked another staff in the bar for the washroom direction !
I wrote email complaints about the dinner, the dining experience and even the worst service , the four season otemachi only appology thru email! ( I paid the service charge and this is what I get the service)
Strongly not recommend this , flavorless dinner and poor service! You could find other nice French...
