Four seasons hotel||Wow… what can I say… we stayed in the Four Seasons Tokyo Otemachi & it was hands down One of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had! ||We’d been up in the mountains to visit Kusatsu Onsen, a small skiing resort & natural hot springs spa village with traditional Japanese hotel with futon beds, so only stayed in Tokyo for 3 nights on our way home, but what an experience! ||Bearing in mind our last hotel at this price range was Pennyhill park in sunny Bagshot in the uk, in June 2023 & that was the most disappointing hotel experience ever! |Well… This was the total opposite of that!!! ||First we were met by the pre-reception staff, on the ground floor who take your bags and get you drinks & and hot towel so you can freshen up to go up to the ACTUAL reception / check in desk in the 39th floor. I can see why they moved the check in desk up there as the views were spectacular & they can control the vibe… which was (according to the lobby music chilled Latino jazz) each time we stepped onto that floor there was a wonderful feeling of space and a welcome relaxing oasis away from the hustle n bustle of Tokyo’s busy streets. The check in staff even walk you directly to your room to help you settle in & explain all the remote control blinds, bar snacks etc…||Now, we’ve stayed at many of the most expensive hotels around the world, in the Maldives/ Mauritius/ Indonesia / USA etc… but I can honestly say… I think we we’re still searching for our favourite ‘somewhere’ we’d happily return to and feel we felt at home and looked after… and now I think we have found it! ||The staff were amazing from reception, check in & the lobby boys who ran a few miles just trying to pin down our Uber driver who had gotten lost trying to find the entrance. |(We used Uber premium in Tokyo, the mid range uber and it was perfect for us, the seats were like leather recliners in the back with seats enough for the children, if you were travelling with any) even though the underground tube situation was so reliable and an experience in itself, it can get overwhelming if travelling with teens or younger children. ||Anyway, I digress… the location of the hotel was a pleasant 10 minute walk from the train station and tube station was a 2 minute walk, so everything was easily within your reach here! ||The staff all remembered our name & our preferences for a window seat every time we were seated for food and Eric who looked after us each day & made our daughter feel so special by remembering her favourite drink each morning at breakfast. She’s going through an awkward pre-teen phase at the moment, so not quite a child and embarrasses easily, but even SHE loved it here and that’s a huge compliment (if anyone has a pre-teen you’ll understand 🤣) ||The bar staff in Virtu the hotel bar were amazing they were so friendly and welcoming… which was rare in most super trendy/ chic hotel bars, as they usually want it to come across as aloof and intimidating… but not in here! Keith was there waiting our table, making us feel like old friends from a rugby club back home! He’s a Leeds rugby lad and helped us sample many local & some not so local speciality drinks. Seeing as though we got chatting to him because I sent my drink back as it tasted strange… which could have left a bad taste in our mouths as it had in the past whenever we’d complained about things which don’t get resolved, but not here… no! Keith went the extra mile in customer service and won us round to the point that we were convinced he was only there that night to serve us! ( even though I’m sure he did have other customers) We were introduced to Graham the mixologist from behind the bar & discovered that they were all not going to be there the next night, as they were being flown out to Kyoto to another four seasons to launch their opening night in the bars… these were happy staff members… and it showed! They even introduced us to the guy who would be taking over from them the next night, so we’d have a friendly face to return to!||The breakfast buffet had everything we like, for a healthy start & even a few naughty things for Valentine’s Day! (Along with the usual local salads. )||This was just everything we needed, when wet needed it! I was starting to think going on holiday with a preteen was a bad idea…. but I’ve realised my daughter just doesn’t like the feeling of being intimidated when travelling & likes to feel relaxed. ||We will definitely be returning to many of the four seasons around the world, as our interest for the culture at The Four Seasons has been well and...
Read moreGreat hotel in the Central Business District of Otemachi, with superb and caring guest services, and large, modern Japanese-style rooms.||Our taxi found the hotel with no issues. The bell hops took charge of our luggage and guided us to the lifts to the 39th floor for check in. The team was expecting us; which comes from flying in on a late flight. ||Key cards in hand, we headed down to our room. Our room was large by Japanese standards, with a king sized bed, and a large bathroom area. We appreciated the size and functionalities of the room. ||The bathroom had double sinks and a large selection of amenities like tooth brushes, razors and shaving foam, combs, etc. There was the quality soaps, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels. Hair dryer was also provided.||There’s a Japanese toilet with bidet function, a large bath tub, a large walk-in rain-shower. While the bathroom looks open, there are sliding doors that will close it up for privacy.||The large bed is very comfortable and the sheets were of high thread count. Pillows were soft and it was a toss up of sleeping on two pillows or one for me.||The room aircon control is on the wall next to the round table, near the large bay windows. The views from this high up was amazing and my wife and I would just sit and admire the city with all its lights on.||There’s a large screen flat TV hung on the wall, with mostly local stations, English news channels and a selected few sports and entertainment channels. Some channels have bilingual function.||There’s a cupboard with shelves with built-in fridge, drawers for cups and plates and glasses, plus small alcohol bottles ready to go. There’s also a kettle, and a Nespresso machine for tea and coffee. The hotel provides some complimentary snacks. Also, as we were in-house during Christmas and New Year, we received some some relevant gifts to celebrate the season.||There’s also a cupboard with lots of hanging space. Umbrellas are provided, and you’ll find the pyjamas and bedroom slippers. There’s bath robes in the bathroom too. ||The safe is in a smaller cupboard beside the main door. ||The spa, gym and the pool is on the same floor as the reception area, with a private lift to the spa, gym, pool reception. Gym is huge with lots of weights and cardio machines. In this long room, there’s a weights area on one end, and a stretching area with Lululemon mats on the opposite end.||The 20 metre swimming pool will give a good workout. There’s also a jacuzzi on one end of the pool. ||The bar is a go-to at the hotel. Great ambience and even better drinks! We did not get reservations for “est”, the hotel Michelin star restaurant, but we ate at their Pigneto Italian restaurant twice and it was wonderful. Kudos also to server, Hiroki, for looking after for us so well.||The Conceirge team were also super helpful and friendly and full of good advice. We went to them multiple times for help booking restaurants around town. Our thanks goes to Kei and Mr Lee. ||The team at the front door also were great, always ready to help with directions or a cab.||The basement also has lots of eating options. There’s also more local restaurants and Izakaya, ramen and sushi in the next building (Otemachi Park).||We were very happy with our stay at Four Seasons Hotel at Otemachi. We had a great time all around! Highly...
Read moreI’m so impressed with the level of service given at Four Seasons Otemachi Tokyo. Right when you step foot on their property, you immediately feel taken care of.
We were greeted by the kindest man ever named George! He has the biggest smile and he’s from the states so I already felt at home being around him. He spoke to my kids and walked us to the elevator to head to the lobby.
We then were welcomed by the sweetest woman named Yumi. She’s the door keeper to the FS Otemachi Tokyo. She makes sure to direct guests the right way and helps you get to the correct floor.
Rin and Genta in valet are amazing! Always welcoming us, asking if we need anything, while also communicating with our taxi and just making sure we’re ok. Love that!
Now this property is unique because it’s housed on the top 6 highest floors of the 39 story tower. It’s got the BEST view in all of Tokyo. We’ve been to so many Four Seasons around the world and this view has got to be the best! 10 out of 10!
Speaking of views, let me tell you about our Two-Bedroom Otemachi Suite. It’s the only suite where you can view four iconic landmarks: Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree and the Imperial Palace East Gardens and on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji!
Besides the uniqueness of this room, it’s so comfortable! I mean they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything in your room. The beds are like clouds! I also rate this room 10 out of 10! Not only is it absolutely beautiful but it’s family friendly and felt like home.
We had in-room breakfast every day and I highly recommend it! The service that comes with it is just as good as the food. Our food was brought in and automatically set up on our dining table by Rino who was sooo sweet! We didn’t even have to ask.
My husband’s and son’s favorite part was their Italian restaurant, Pigneto. Even if you’re not staying at the Four Seasons, you can still come and check it out. They serve up the most delicious homemade pasta AND desserts. Their signature dishes include T-bone steak, clams, and burrata. But their Margherita pizza is to die for, especially the dough! You can sit inside right by the kitchen and watch them cook OR head outside to their open-air terrace that overlooks the Imperial Palace and even Mt. Fuji.
Afternoon Tea Time was my personal fav! Not only do you get a view of the city while sipping on tea but it’s organized so well. We enjoyed a Summer themed tea menu with different types of teas and desserts. The options were almost too pretty to eat but we ate them all!lol. Definitely visit even if you’re not staying at the FS. Such a fun place to go on a date, have some girl time or enjoy it with the fam.
They also have Four Seasons Kids Academy where this program invites children to explore hotel jobs through interactive activities. Such as learning how to be a housekeeper, a greeter and even a chef. My kids loved it and had so much fun! You can even take pictures while doing it all!
A huge THANK YOU to the rest of the staff Hiro, Natsuki and Mia. They all played a huge role in making our stay so memorable! We appreciate the hospitality and the warmth you all provided us!
This trip would not be possible without Yuki and Shingo! You both are such professional and wonderful individuals! Will never...
