This might be a trap for tourists that do not understand or speak Japanese. We didn’t reserve any seats, but they were kindly enough to offer us a seating. However, we only ate some few things and can’t get over how expensive it was! We paid over 5000 yen for 4 small dishes and 2 peach drinks. This didn’t add up when the prices was already written on the menu and we roughly calculated at around 3000yen in total. Also, there was a very limited choice on the menu as well. When we looked at our neighbour’s table, they ordered dishes that weren’t on the menu we had. Apparently they added 1500+600 yen extra on the bill that we don’t know what is. Don’t go there if you’re not a local.
EDIT (as an answer to the reply from the owner): Thank you so much for the reply. Our apologies to mix up between the drink charge and the service fee charge. However, something to note is 1) we ordered 5 things and got 4. We did not ask for the last one since we thought you forgot it and that’s ok so we let it be. We were unfortunately still charged for all 5 items, 2) we were told that the crackers were free of charge by the waitress. Very disappointing that an extra fee was put and not informed during our visit.
For other tourists: If you wanna visit this place, be assured what you’re paying for and what extra fees you need to pay. Apparently they do not inform beforehand and do not seem like to be very eager to be understood, unless you speak and read...
Read moreWhat a cool place, it's so unassuming you think it was a speakeasy! The entrance is downstairs and it may appear there is a blind covering the doorway, it's actually a half door you must crouch under to get into the restaurant.
Reservations are a good idea past 6PM but may try your luck waiting for a seat.
I've seen some reviews regarding the service fee, it's really not a problem considering all the additional items, service, and experience you get. Well worth the money. Just accept it and enjoy yourselves!
Very creative space and fun atmosphere here, not to mention the Yakitori and other menu items are extremely good!
The restaurant has a playful way to call for service at your table, rubber chickens! I can't say how much we laughed as everyone was attempting their most hilarious call. Plus they're great table companions for fun pictures.
I came here twice during my stay once with and without my spouse. Each time was consistent to the next, an exceptional experience!
Highly recommend the mash potatoes, which you mash yourself, it has a smoky note from the pickles. Also, try the chicken wings...for us foreigners, it's a whole different way to enjoy these and might be the best way to be honest.

Read moreThe food was good. Unfortunately, our party felt uncomfortable with the service. We needed to check our order multiple times because of missing orders and wrong items getting served. We asked for our missing chicken congee, and the waitress pointed to the small cup of chicken soup (which we didn’t order and told us that was the congee). It was a bit ridiculous to confuse the two dishes as the soup was almost 1/3 of the price of the congee we ordered. We even have a few Japanese speakers within our party, but the miscommunication just happened too many times throughout the meal. It made me wonder how easy it could be for a foreigner to be taken advantage of in this situation if we weren’t able to speak Japanese.
Finally, because we had a few missing orders that took some time to get served, we were surprised to be asked to leave immediately when the 2-hour dining time was up(in which we realized the time wasn’t even up yet when we left). We understand that it’s important for the restaurant to get the new party seated but they could’ve notified us a few minutes before our time is up. It was especially annoying to be asked to leave immediately and get rushed into wearing our shoes the minute they told...
