Our recent family dining experience for Lunch on Thursday August 17, 2023 at Gonpachi Shibuya restaurant left us absolutely delighted, and a significant part of that satisfaction is owed to the exceptional service provided by Sonia, our extraordinary waitress. As a party of four, including my wife, daughter, son, and myself, we were treated to a memorable meal that was elevated to perfection by Sonia's attentiveness and genuine care.

Sonia's expertise truly shone as she guided us through the menu, taking the time to understand our individual preferences and dietary requirements. Her personalized recommendations ensured that each dish we chose was a reflection of our unique tastes, enhancing the overall dining experience for each family member.

Beyond her mastery of the menu, Sonia's compassion and quick thinking in the face of an unexpected situation were truly remarkable. When my son accidentally bruised his hand, Sonia responded with an unwavering commitment to his comfort. She promptly provided a generously sized bag of ice and went the extra mile by offering to hold it against his hand, showcasing a level of care that went above and beyond her role as a waitress.

Gonpachi Shibuya itself stands as a testament to exceptional culinary craftsmanship. The ambiance seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary elements, creating an atmosphere that sets the stage for a truly captivating dining journey. Every dish served was a masterpiece, marrying exquisite presentation with flavors that delighted our palates.

Yet, it was Sonia's impeccable service that left an indelible mark on our visit. Her ability to curate a tailored dining experience, coupled with her warmth and genuine attentiveness, distinguished her as a server of unparalleled caliber. Her efforts exemplified the values upheld by Gonpachi Shibuya and transformed our family meal into a cherished memory.

In conclusion, if you're in search of a restaurant that offers not only remarkable cuisine but also an unparalleled level of service, look no further than Gonpachi Shibuya. Sonia's dedication, professionalism, and sincere care set the gold standard for exceptional service. For a dining experience that seamlessly combines culinary excellence with personalized attention, Gonpachi Shibuya is the...

The food was delicious, but the outstanding service truly elevated the entire meal. Our waiter was an absolute professional. Not only did he speak excellent English, making communication effortless, but he was incredibly accommodating. I had a few specific requests for my Yakitori dish, wanting to customize it to my liking. He listened attentively and was more than willing to apply every single change I asked for, ensuring the dish would be exactly as I envisioned. What truly impressed me, however, was his expertise; he went above and beyond by suggesting additional modifications I hadn't even considered, which ultimately took the Yakitori from great to absolutely perfect. His recommendations demonstrated a deep understanding of the menu and a genuine desire to enhance my meal. Beyond the impeccable service, the food itself was delicious. Every bite was a delight, and the portion sizes were generous and incredibly satisfying. I was really impressed compared to other resturants I visited in Japan, both with the incredible flavors and the overall dining experience. This restaurant isn't just about great food; it's about the unforgettable service that makes you feel valued and perfectly catered to. Highly,...

Best dinner this trip. I love that they serve a variety, from appetizers to sushi, to skewered grills and in-house handmade soba.

I was craving soba and being greedy, I had my eyes on their Dragon Roll too (avocado and sea eel maki) and I was grateful they agreed to make me a half portion soba so I can have both. That's what I call service! Just opposite the sushi bar they have a soba corner where they make their soba in house.

The shio chicken thigh skewer was on point. The deep fried squid strips were a bit chewy for my liking.

The young lady who served me spoke fluent English, they also have their menu in English. The tables by the window gives a great view, especially at sunset. Ambience, food quality, service checked, and reasonably priced for this standard (my entire dinner was just ¥3317), you can't find fault here.

Reservations recommended if you are coming at regular meal times. I was lucky to get a table despite the random walk-in cause I was there at 5pm and they needed me to return the table by 7pm. Note that they don't accept payment by cash though, cardless payment only.

I will certainly be back when I next...

I’m Japanese 🇯🇵 but I think this restaurant is really for foreign tourists, so I’ll write in English. 😅 First of all, my rating for this place is not high. The English menu and the staff who can speak English make it pretty clear that tourists are the main target. The atmosphere was nice though, very wa (Japanese-style). ✨ But the food… honestly, the quality was bad. 😩 My friend and I ordered two Tendon (tempura rice bowls) and some yakitori. The yakitori came quickly, but the tendon took 50 minutes. ⏳ Way too long. No way frying tempura takes that long — they must have forgotten our order! 😡 When I asked the staff, it came about 10 minutes later, but still no apology. (The yakitori was fine.) And the tendon itself? Not good at all. 🤷‍♀️ As a Japanese person, I can say we usually eat tendon that’s way cheaper and way more delicious. 😂 I was honestly shocked at how bad it was. Maybe because it’s aimed at tourists? It was way too greasy. The sauce was already poured on top, but even that sauce wasn’t tasty. Neither my friend nor I finished our bowls. 😔
