Henry's Burger is located in Harajuku amidst a bunch of outdoor apparel shops. The restaurant has 5-10 outdoor stool seats on the first floor and about 20 seats on the second floor, which also has a clean, well-kept washroom. Michael Jackson's music can be heard throughout the restaurant. The staff were adequate and fine. I arrived at 1:30 PM on a Monday and was able to get a seat with no issue.
The menu offers a choice of a Japanese Wagyu (beef) or Waton (pork) patty, served in the "smashburger" style, which means the patty is flattened on the grill to create a light sear and crust. The patty in my burger had no gristle and was well made. The buns were a little too soft, but the lettuce was crispy and the tomato was thickly cut. The sauce had a light tanginess and savoriness that worked well.
The burger was a little small for my personal preference but was overall adequate. I added the onion rings, which were fried well and not overly greasy. The total came to about JPY 1810. The wait was about 15 minutes from order to receipt, which seemed a little long, but I assume it's due to the burger being grilled upon order.
In conclusion, it's a little pricey given the small size, but fair since the...
Read moreHarajuku has a lot of burger restaurant, couldn’t decide which one to go to however the monster 1kg wagyu burger caught my eye and had to give it a visit on our last day in Japan for some good beef paddies. We ordered the standard single paddy burger with lettuce, tomato and cheese in a meal and I ordered the Kurokage 1kg burger to the surprise of the waitress taking my order. When I got my meal I can say there were at least 10 paddies, with cheese and sauce, gloves were provided and it was needed to say the least. You cannot take a bite at this without your nose being inside one of the paddies, this thing is HIGE. The paddies were cooked through and it was tasty, suffice to say i was hungry enough to finish the monster 1kg burger and washed it down with some Pepsi. Well worth the visit if you want to consume heaps of Wagyu paddies :) There’s toilets upstairs with more table and bar seating...
Read moreThe burger was good, but the overall experience was disappointing. Service was painfully slow, with long waits and staff who seemed uninterested—especially the cashier, who gave the impression that working was a chore. For the price, the portions felt underwhelming: a small burger without fries, which is far too expensive for what you get. Speaking of the fries, they were overly greasy, as if they were double-cooked or fried in oil that wasn’t hot enough.
The menu was also surprisingly limited, offering only two options: a pork burger or a Wagyu burger, both at the same price. While the quality of the Wagyu was decent, it didn’t feel justified given the portion size.
On a positive note, they did have a great music selection, which made the wait slightly more tolerable. Still, it’s not enough to make up for the rest. Definitely not worth the money...
