Kopikalyan Harajuku, nestled in the vibrant heart of Tokyo, is a delightful haven for coffee enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This cozy café seamlessly blends the traditional charm of Indonesian coffee culture with the contemporary flair of Harajuku, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere for its patrons.
One of the standout features of Kopikalyan Harajuku is its commitment to authenticity and inclusivity. The café prides itself on offering a diverse range of snacks, but one that particularly stands out is the tempeh, or "tempe" as it's locally known. This fermented soybean delicacy, a staple in Indonesian cuisine, is served with a modern twist. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the tempeh at Kopikalyan is seasoned with a mix of traditional spices that tantalize the taste buds, making it the perfect companion to a freshly brewed cup of their signature coffee.
The café's ambiance is warm and welcoming, adorned with tasteful décor that pays homage to both Indonesian and Japanese cultures. Amidst the hustle and bustle of Harajuku, Kopikalyan provides a serene retreat where customers can unwind, savor their coffee, and indulge in delightful snacks.
Moreover, Kopikalyan Harajuku is thoughtfully designed to accommodate the needs of its diverse clientele. Recognizing the importance of providing a space for all, the café includes a dedicated room for Muslim patrons to perform their prayers. This quiet and private area is a testament to Kopikalyan's inclusive ethos, ensuring that everyone can feel comfortable and respected while enjoying their visit.
Kopikalyan Harajuku isn't just a café; it's a cultural bridge that brings people together through the shared love of coffee, delicious food, and mutual respect. Whether you're a local looking for a taste of home, a tourist exploring the unique offerings of Tokyo, or someone in need of a tranquil spot to reflect and pray, Kopikalyan Harajuku welcomes you with open arms and a steaming...
Read moreThis is one of my favourite coffee place in Tokyo especially this branch is originally comes from Indonesia and they serve Indonesian coffee, which is rare in Tokyo, yet Japan. My favourite menu is Kopi Kalyan because they use palm sugar and Indonesian white coffee. They also have Jamu menu which they create to please your tongue, but has less âkhasiatâ, as Jamu is a herbs from Indonesia that you should drink it as it is.
As for the food, it is overprice. They sell tempe with truffle. Good to try once in a while but for me, tempe goes well with sambal and warm rice.
Recently, the shop gains its popularity but unfortunately, the coffee does not taste good as before.
The staffs are friendly but the store management exposing their strict rules in an extremely frank way whereas a cafe is suppose to be a place to chill.
Not sure if going to this coffee shop is to find the pleasure in the tasty coffee and food, or to hang out with frieends, because this coffee shop has lost its philosophy...
Read moreIt is a good place to hang out, espescially in the morning, not many people go there You can choose the place wherewver you are convinience. The place has a good vibes, which comfy when you spend your time chitchat with your partner or friends. It excellent place for that.. However, in lunch time or after 4pm, it is difficult to have a place inside, sometimes you could wait for long hour. The place also has a nice and clean bathroom with good prayer room for moslem.
The food needs to be improved; the coffee is just good, there is no added value inside or something delicious, and the toast with ice cream is plain. It is something that needs to be upgraded. But the good thing is that all food is halal. I asked the maid twice, and they replied, âOf course, we are halal.â
The maid also could speak english. So it is convenient to request something from the store.
It is a good place in the middle of crowded Shibuya. I hope they become better...
