Hidakaya Uguisudani — Restaurant in Tokyo

We found this eatery when walking around the area, they had an English menu so we went there for dinner. Food ordering was with a English menu which we asked for, we then ordered our selections from a tablet at the table, select English and select choice of food and drinks by touch screen, easy as...2 beers, a ramen, small fried rice, 3 fried dumplings and Dragon chicken (spicy hot). We were not expecting 5 star food, but all the food was very tasty. Total bill was about 2300 Yen. We were really happy with this place. Staff were very happy and helpful, every time a customer came through the door they were welcomed by staff in loud cheerful voices whether they were close or at the rear of the restaurant. When we walked in one of the staff members said welcome to us from afar. We sat down and tried to navigate their tablet to order the food. When we literally just finished choosing and submitted our order, another older female staff came over and spoke totally in Japanese (which we couldn't understand a single word). But basically she turned us away using X-shaped hand gesture. Why welcomed customers in and waited until they placed their order and refused to serve them??? We saw 3 other Japanese customers eating there too, meaning the restaurant was definitely in service. What kind of 24 hour restaurant is this? Terrible customer service. Ridiculous treatment to...
