I happened to be staying around the corner and noticed this place so made a same evening reservation and it did not disappoint! The food was beyond flavorful! I started with a three piece appetizer which included a tuna dish, a small fish similar to a sardine over a salad and a cauliflower soup. The small fish salad just popped with flavor that wasn’t overpowering but hit the tastebuds and made me see what I’ve been missing for months of being away from home. I then ordered the lamb over mushrooms which was perfectly cooked as were the mushrooms and the delicacy and flavor was on a whole new level and being able to watch the chef cook it in front of me at the bar was a plus! I then finished it off with the Tsubuan Chocolate and that was a splendid, mild sweetness to cap off the meal. I would highly suggest visiting this hidden spot from anywhere in the city as you will not be disappointed and the service is fantastic. Everyone was communicate, friendly and easy to converse with even with a language barrier. I appreciated their hospitality very much! Will be back...
Read moreThe Ido Bistro is our favorite restaurant ... in the world! My wife and I have had the pleasure of evenings at Ido on 4 occasions with our daughter and son-in-law, who live nearby. Nori, the head chef, comes to our table and explains in a beautiful energetic mix of Japanese, English and animated gestures that day’s specials - often aided by nearby multilingual diners. We invariably choose several and shortly afterwards Sako presents us with beautifully presented colorful works of fusion cuisine with elements of Italian, French, Thai, Japanese (other?) that tastes just wonderful. As we eat we look around and enjoy the flavor of a cozy neighborhood establishment where locals engage in animated discussion while enjoying their meals. Each dish is outdone by the next and complimented by a short but nice selection of wines and brews, and tasty desserts. The wonderful food experience is further enhanced by the joyful engagement with our hosts who treat us like lost cousins. Ido Bistro is always a must-do on every trip to...

The chief chef Nori-san’s dishes are so unique, original and tasteful! I enjoy them every time I go there. There are not many seats because it is renovated traditional Japanese style house, so make sure to reserve the seat for dinner for more than 4 people.
If you go there on lunchtime, I recommend you to add the daily soup for ¥200. So delicious...
