DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! We first booked it thinking it was a nice cheap area but trust me the more cheap it is the worse the hotel is going to be.first of all it does not look anything like the photos and we slowly started to realize that this is not a hotel it’s literally a motel in disguise and it was more obvious since every room has a camera that you can look at from the inside and instead of giving you a card like regular hotels they leave the key inside your room which is really unsafe because anyone could have snuck in, speaking of unsafe the “hotel” in general was very sketchy because it just wasn’t very clean there was ROACHES in our room and many people have said that there are bedbugs but thankfully we were luckily not attacked by bedbugs but I doubt there isn’t any completely either because of the pee stained mattresses. The last thing that was the most weirdest thing ever that I’ve only seen at this hotel is the multiple signs saying to not take photos of CHILDREN…? LIKE WHO IS TAKING PHOTOS OF CHILDREN AND WHY ARE THERE MULTIPLE SIGNS TELLING YOU TO CALL THE COPS IF YOU SEE SOMEONE TAKING PHOTOS OF CHILDREN. Some people were saying that they weren’t given a refund and that they were just changed to a different room but I will not be staying at this “hotel” ever again and I am going to try to get a refund right now.save your money from this “hotel” unless you want to sleep on a pee stained , bug...
Read moreIts a decent hotel, despite all the negative reviews. I booked a dormitory bed in a room shared with 3 other people. And everyone with a dormitory bed have common rooms for eating, laundry, cooking, and bathing. Its a very different experience from a hotel but its surprisingly not bad.
All of the facilities are very clean and hygienic. The beds are decent. Each dormitory room is secured by lock that only roommates know. Its not that private because you are sharing facilities, but thats expected if you pick a dormitory bed option in a hotel that is dormitory style.
And as a plus, if you are a solo traveller, you may feel good just being surrounded by other travellers that booked this hotel. For me, I've had a wonderful conversation with two people in the hotel who are also visiting Japan. We were in the same dormitory room and we were just sharing a little bit about ourselves as well as the things we do and visit in Japan.
I would for sure pick this hotel again because I miss the small conversations with other roommates. Even making eye contact with them and smiling at them means so much.
Also, location wise, the hotel is located at a convenient spot. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from Ichigaya station, part of the Chuo Sobu line that connects to Shinjuku and Akihabara. You can access the busiest and touristy spots easily through Ichigaya station. The Chuo Sobu line is also...
Read moreDuring our travel to Tokyo, we had the opportunity to stay at Rhodes. Unfortunately, because it was during the holidays during our stay, we didn't have many options on the hotel and the budget. If you guys could afford a little bit more, I would recommend elsewhere.
As other commenters have mentioned, there is no room to store your luggage, so if you decide to bring a carry-on, it will be left out in the hallway.
In the shared rooms (men and women), there are no hooks inside the sleeping bunk or rooms, so your coats/bags and other things will be left either in the hallway with your luggage or you will have to hold them in your sleep because there is no room in your sleeping bunk. However, in the women's sleeping room, there are hooks and a hanger. (This should be in all rooms, in my opinion)
If you don't mind safety, this can be an option for you. There's no door to your sleeping bunk. it's just a curtain. If you had unruly neighbors like we did (threatened us when we asked them to quiet down , they said if we didn't speak french, we'd have a problem) then you will sleep with your eyes open. So your valuables are exposed, and you're sleeping exposed.
Another issue I found was why is there a safe only in the women's room and not the shared room? Men and women have valuables to be stored away.
Anyways, the staff was very kind. Communication with booking.com and staff...
