II II II COFFEE — Restaurant in Tokyo

A one-man-band coffee stand, and the lone barista pulls an excellent shot of espresso. If you’re a coffee enthusiast this is your place in Tokyo. It’s a roastery where you can buy beans, and a place you can drop by for an on-the-go coffee.

The premises is very small, and not an ideal space for groups of 4 or more people (who are looking to sit down for an hour)… although there is a small bench and a couple of bar stools in tight quarters.

A great little coffee shop with excellent service. I went there looking for a drip coffee, but the price seemed a bit high (1000 yen?), so I went with the iced latte. And I’m glad I did. I'm not a coffee drinker, and this place introduced a whole experience of coffee to me. Namely, when getting a takeout the cup and the sleeve are made of paper that still smells woody, almost smoky to me. And the fusion of the bitterness of Americano together with the woody notes of the cup just elevated the quality of the drink I got to a new level.
