The perfect start to every day of our stay.
We stayed at the Intercontinental Tokyo for a week, and every single morning we were greeted and looked after by Matteus at Cascade Café. He is without doubt one of the kindest, warmest, and most helpful people we met in Japan.
From the very first day, he made us feel completely welcome and at home. Nothing was ever too much trouble — whether it was helping us with breakfast, offering thoughtful recommendations, or just making sure our day started on the best possible note. He consistently went above and beyond, and his genuine care and professionalism really stood out.
Breakfast itself was excellent, but it was Matteus’ hospitality that made it truly memorable. We looked forward to seeing him every morning, and he became an important part of our experience in Tokyo.

What caught our eye immediately after checkin was the chocolate fondue fountain and we had decided that this will be the place for dinner. However, I was disappointed with the service. Throughout our meal, we had to call the staff multiple times just to clear the empty plates from our table. With three of us dining, the plates started to pile up, and we even had to stack them ourselves because we were running out of space. We were seated near the staff booth, so several staff members walked past us repeatedly, but none of them took the initiative to help. It became quite frustrating having to constantly ask for assistance.
I hope the management takes note, as we’d love to come back again for the food and ambiance—hopefully with improved...
