I went for the all-you-can-eat option for JPY5,800 for 90 minutes (last order at 70 minutes, ordering through order sheets on the table).
Food came out relatively fast and was presented nicely. The chutoro, botanebi, shimesaba and aburi set were the highlights for me but generally the quality was fine (even if the rice was a bit on the harder side). Overall I was satisfied with the quality of food (particularly for the price), and it felt like a luxury to order this quality of sushi on a pretty much unlimited basis.
Service levels however were quite poor. The staff was never explicitly rude, but never polite, e.g. grasping our order sheet off the table, refilling water but obviously doing so begrudgingly (and without saying anything), having coats fall on the floor, etc. Chefs are also yelling at both each other and at the staff, who I've seen multiple times bring orders to the wrong table or otherwise make mistakes.
For an all-you-can-eat option of this quality of food the pricing isn't bad, but it would have been a much better experience if the service level could be improved. Given this level of service quality I would not opt for any of the...
Read moreThis place is a total rip off!! Normally I do not write this kind of review however, this experience is totally different. I have had a really good dinner experience at sushi Abe in Roppongi so I made a reservation thinking it was the same, however it directed me to this Sushi Abe restaurant which I discovered is a chain. The place is situated in an office building, brightly lit with neon lights. We tried to make the best out of it because we pre paid 30,000 yen, however, the food was nothing special. It was like any ordinary food you find in the horrible fast food chain restaurant. We had about four dishes and was so unbearable that we had to make our way out as soon...
Read moreWe had previously dined at Sushi Abe Rippongi and had a wonderful gastronomical experience. So, we booked at their restaurant at this location. We had the omakase Grade A at 15,000 yen per person. Mostly we were served dried up tasteless sushi where you could find in any Lawson’s convenient store. Flavorless rice equaled by overly refrigerated fish. The black cod was dry and pasty. The ambience was only matched by a fast food take out joint. The only part I enjoyed was the bottle of Olivier Leflaive Premier Cru Chablis. I highly do not recommend...
